My family and I have been coming to the custard cup for years. The most recent (and final) trip we took to the custard cup was the worst service I have ever received. It started out simple enough, with most of our order coming out right. Then near the end of our order we were given a wrong cone, which we told the employee was incorrect. She insisted we take the cone anyways so my mother took it and continued to discuss what the order was supposed to be, and politely asked for the proper cone. The employee then told her that she had already recieved a cone (the one we stated was incorrect), and refused to give her another. After getting nowhere just asking nicely for the order to be corrected, we asked to speak with a manager. I have never been treated so rudely. She insisted that once we held the incorrect cone (which her employee insisted we take) that she was unable to take it back because of health code rules. We said we understood, but still wished to receive what we had paid for. Not only did she refuse to give us what we had paid for or a refund, but she gave us a nasty attitude the whole time. I told her it was unfortunate that we would never be coming back because we had always liked their ice cream. Her reply was the single rudest comment I've ever gotten in a customer / employee exchange. She pointed to her long line of customers and told me "With lines like Disney land, I'll be fine without your business. " Apparently having good enough ice cream means you can be as nasty to your customers...

It's not an exciting little shop, and there are usually hornets and no shade. The location doesn't inspire me to hang around after I get my cone. Also, the servers are usually a little short and grumpy with me. I have no idea why.
The hours are also weird. I'm never quite sure if they're open or not. You can't rely on the Google listing, and there's no number to call.
But it's all worth it for the best frozen custard you can find! I'm probably about to go see if they're open. I'm going to make a 20 minute round trip in the hopes that...
Read moreHeads up, cash only. I thought this was a decent place. I'm a bit critical of ice cream places as I love it so, have sampled from so many, and my kids and wife can't have dairy. The Custard Cup only had one non-dairy option available--basically a grocery store push pop ice thing in a few flavors. I thought the custard was OK and the butterscotch dip was so-so. Overall, there are many other great options available. So, not bad in a pinch, but there are better...
