Went and looked at several campers and found one we liked. (We drove 2 hrs one way.) It wasnât brand new, it is a year old and never used. There were a few things inside that needed fixed so we were told to come back in a week to pick it up. We went back (2 hr drive) and NOTHING WAS TOUCHED. They said they would fix them if we would wait.
So we did. We waited and waited and waited for 7 hrs!! We went to have a bit to eat after being there 6 hrs. We returned to see it in the parking lot ready to go. No one communicated with us at all this entire time. Seven hours and no one even called us to tell us it was ready.
They did not give us all the keys so thank goodness my husband checked, so I had to go in and have someone find the rest of the keys. After that we were on our way back home ready to just be finished with the entire experience. We get it Home, open up the three slides, go in and they never touched anything in the entire camper!!! It was all still the same way that it was the week before and we waited the seven hours!
I call one of the managers and after threatening to return it, he offered to come and pick it up fix it and bring it back. Thatâs it!!
Never offered anything else for our trouble. I asked if they could throw in a camper cover for everything that we had been through and he flat out told me no because they cost too much. We literally just spent almost $40,000 and he couldnât give us a $500 camper cover? So I said to him what are you going to offer me? We lost an entire day, we both missed work twice, and we still do not have our camper that weâre paying for? He literally offered us a $100 gift card. Are you freaking kidding me? This is a multi million dollar company and theyâre worried about $500???? They sent someone to pick up the camper, and that experience was just as bad! The man that came was extremely rude, hateful, and had no idea what he was doing. He he drove into my yard, which was not necessary. We have a very large property with a very easy turnaround to literally hook up and drive through. He was driving in and drove into my yard and tore my entire yard up! Do you really think if I was to call they would care that my yard got tore up from their employee ? Wish I never would have trusted this very unprofessional company!
At this point I do not have my camper back. I am supposed to have it back sometime this week. I am not holding my breath for anything to happen the way that they said it would.
This is something that should have been a wonderful time and experience in our lives as we were purchasing a new camper for the very first time. COMPLETE DISASTER!
if you donât believe me, just look up the other reviews. I only wish I would have done that before I made...
Read moreMy experience started off horrible. I bought a $12,000 camper from there and paid $1,000 for a prepurchase inspection to ensure everything was working properly on the unit and it was in good working order. Then I engaged in a verbal argument with the Sales Manager Randy (?) about the quality of product they were selling me. Who tells a customer "when you pull this off the lot, I don't care if it falls in half right out front, its your problem," before they sign the purchase papers. Their saving grace was Ryan, the salesman, who was so kind, gracious and apologetic about the situation. I proceeded with the purchase and on the day I was to pick the unit up I was asked to do a walk through of the unit. While doing the walk through, I noticed that one of the rubber seals was not attached and was just hanging off the guide cable. I pointed it out to the representative and he assured me they would take care of it while I signed the release papers. I signed the papers and they had the unit pulled out front ready to go. In my excitement I did not check the seal to see if it was repaired. I took my family camping 2 weeks later and the seal was still broke, which was discovered only after it began to rain and water poured into the slide out. The following week I called and left a voicemail with service about the situation. No return call. After seven weeks and 11 voicemails, I demanded to speak with Randy the sales manager. I had a very combative conversation with Randy but was able to get my unit scheduled with service. I dropped the unit off and asked for the g.m. because I wanted to discuss the problems I was having. I was told that the g.m. and Randy were moved to other locations but that they were committed to getting me satisfied. After a two week wait, I received a call saying the repair was made and my balance was $450.00. I reiterated my situation to the service manager and told him that although I didn't want anything for free, this was not fair. I asked him to consider a fair solution and let me know. I received a call a week later saying I could come pick up my unit. The service rep was a great guy who was beyond nice and very attentive to my questions about the repair. After going over the repairs he informed me that they had new management in the sales and the service department who were determined to correct the previous groups wrong doings and that my repair was at no cost. So what started as a horrible experience turned into a good one. Hopefully it continues to improve, they have really good...
Read moreItâs interesting to note other reviewers state they came in off the road and received prompt service. If you call to make an appointment for any service you are put off for a month or more. I knew this and scheduled an appointment anyway for dewinterization services and some issues with the tires/brakes. I brought it in July 5 and let it be known I would like to have it by Saturday the 10th for a trip on the 12th. They didnât even bring it into the bay until 4 days after I dropped it off, so so much for making an appointment and so much for my scheduled trip. I was called that same morning (read they didnât spend much time on diagnostics) and informed that the problem was that the ball bearings needed to be pressed by hydraulic equipment they do not have and even if they did, it would take over 2 weeks for parts to arrive. I was assured it would be ok to tow the trailer to another shop that had such equipment, but âit was really up to me.â I arranged to leave it there for a week until I returned from my now motel trip. I went in the night before, paid my bill and was told the trailer would be out so that I could get it first thing in the morning. They had it out for me. With a dead battery and the jack stand not on the blocks we left to make sure it was high enough to get on the hitch. After a bunch of unsuccessful fooling around, I had to wait until they opened to have someone come out with a battery pack to assist us. We got hitched and drove 15 ft. to discover it was untowable as the wheels were locked. We called a tow truck. The driver arrived and tapped on the brakes with a hammer and problem (sort of) solved. We towed it ourselves to the drivers shop where they diagnosed the brakes as needing replaced. There was NOTHING wrong with the bearings and nothing CAMPING WORLD could not have fixed if they had bothered to even look at it and had they honored the appointment time I had rather than leaving it sit for 4 days. The only bright spot for CW was Nancy at the service desk who tried her best to be professional and earnest but was ultimately not able to overcome the really rotten way CAMPING WORLD mishandled this whole situation. If in the Toledo area, use Wrightâs Tire and Auto in Bowling Green. They took us right in, showed us the worn out brakes and fixed us up in an afternoon. CAMPING WORLD is like any other dealership: fine when youâre buying from them but youâre dead meat to them after driving away with their product. Do yourself a favor and find a good local mechanic who has the wherewithal to fix...
