A Local Treasure!

Mar-bill has been and continues to be a local treasure of the community. This past year I had purchased my wife a platinum and diamond tennis bracelet to celebrate a milestone she had achieved.

After seeing how much she loved it I decided to break a 20 year streak of not giving jewelry for Christmas and to give her something special. Alexa and Carey to the rescue!!! They both have been VERY attentive and supportive through this process.

I had a big list of requirements starting with a very special stone that I ended up acquiring, pre-cut from a dealer in San Diego. But I had the confidence to buy the stone based on some ideas that Carey had provided about how we could design the jewelry to meet my objectives. And Alexa spent a fair amount of time calming my nerves while waiting for the stone to get here.

I was able to provide Carey with dimensions for the stone before I even received it.

From those she was able to put together a novel, interesting, and beautiful design that utilized the stone perfectly and highlighted it using a series of supporting diamonds and a custom built platinum setting.

Carey then was able to get a wax prototype for preview. We went back and forth a couple of more times tweaking the design, perfecting it.

Alexa and Carey reviewed costs with me and were able to provide ranges based on stone quality and usable advice regarding the quality of the stones. In addition, Alexa and Carey provided multiple options for a complimentary platinum chain to wear the pendant on.

Finally it was time to pull the trigger and do the big reveal to my wife.

I decided I wanted it to be a complete surprise and had her friend lure my wife to Mar-bill. The entire store staff was in on the reveal, Carey had everything setup in her nook, and the entire thing was video'd for our enjoyment.

Jewelry is expensive and it can be scary spending a significant amount of money on it. I can't think of a store, an owner, or staff that I trust more to do the right thing, provide expert and useful advice, and make sure you get the value you deserve.

These rings were my mother's and I've had them for years since she passed away, but they never fit right and the stones had seen much better days. I took these rings to a few jewelers and they all said they had too much damage to resize and it could damage the stones more and / or compromise the integrity of the rings. Any time I put them on, I was frustrated with how they looked and sad that they were in this condition. These rings were intentionally damaged before they were given to me and I remember them being so vibrant and properly taken care of before that. Unfortunately they are the only items that I have of my mother's and I did not know what to do with them since they couldn't really be worn. The large diamond was originally an emerald and had some normal wear but due to the intentional damage, I was always very hesitant to wear it for extended periods. I wore it for my maternity photos and immediately placed it back in a ring box for fear of making it worse and eventually losing the stone altogether. The ruby was also very scratched and dull. As I ended 2024, I decided to have them repaired after 13 years and I'm soooo glad I did!! I had the emerald replaced with a diamond and the ruby was replaced with a much newer and shiny ruby. The repairs on these rings have truly given them new life and I'm so thankful for the delicate care that you took of my jewelry. I'm so thankful that I now get to enjoy looking at my mother's rings with a new sense of appreciation and a feeling of relief that they have been fully repaired and customized to give them a brand new look. I will likely not get my jewelry anywhere else due to this experience. I couldn't be more happy with the finished rings....

I could not be happier after visiting with Alexa at Marbills. I was recommended by my friend. Throughout the process Alexa went above and beyond anything I could ever ask of.. She was so patient with me and made me feel so comfortable and all of my nervousness and anxiety was immediately alleviated after one visit and speaking with Alexa. She made me feel at ease and so excited to work with her. Upon he final product she was more excited than me I think which made me even more happier and excited. She even had so many options for the box ha. Then a bottle of wine to top it off. I can’t wait to talk to her after I pop the question.
