I was discriminated against by a cashier named Nivedita. Nivedita had 2 customers in her line when I entered the line. Her light was also on. All I had was one jug of water which it takes seconds to check out. When I approached the register to checkout I had to pushed my jug up because she didn’t turn on the belt. We are now face to face and she didn’t acknowledge me, she looked down only. She logged out, grab her water and went to self service very fast. I was so confused. I waited like a minute before I yelled out what’s going on? A guy tapped her shoulder and told her she had a customer. She replied to him I’m on break can you get that? He said I didn’t know. Once he came over I asked for manager because she abandoned me. She came back over and said he was suppose to come over and she told me she was leaving. The other cashier said you didn’t ask me that prior and I replied you never said anything to me as well. Why are you lying? I asked for a manager again. When the manager came he asked her did she tell me and switched it too I smiled and nodded my head which is also a lie. At this point the other cashier and bagger are looking lost because they have heard her lies too. The store manager said she is usually friendly which I didn’t like because I’m telling you differently. It’s like watching the news and someone goes to prison from big crimes and that one friend be like he was a good person. We never knew. He definitely made excuses for her. There is no excuse for leaving someone in your line, with a light on for break. I was the only one not checked out and I had one item. I feel like if I looked differently she would have checked out my water. She was still logged in. Cameras don’t lie. They will show me standing there looking lost and her never acknowledging or opening her mouth. I’m so upset that no one acknowledged her lying and mistreating me. She got to keep working and I got a $10 gift card. That’s not enough for...
Read moreThis Kroger is very close to my house, so I thought I'd try grocery shopping here. I had a cart full of groceries and my toddler son and was being followed by security all throughout the store. I don't know where they thought I was going with a shopping cart that I could barely turn down the aisles AND my son, but it was a very unpleasant experience.
Their credit card terminals seem to always be having a problem. One time my credit card with plenty of money on it was declined at the register. The message was 'not authorized'. The cashier was not very well trained, as she insisted it was because they only took debit cards and not credit. I was tired of trying to explain to her, so I just ended up using my debit card. Most recently, I went shopping, thinking that last experience had to be a fluke, and once again, I found myself in a lane where the credit card terminal was declining my debit card. The woman had me swipe it about 10 times before it finally said approved, but the woman said it was declined and the register said I still owed the full balance. I let it go because I thought the approved message was a mess up and tried another several times per the cashier. I finally asked to suspend the order since I would have to call my husband and see if he could find out what was going on. There were people moving lanes and getting angry behind me. Embarrassing since, again, I had my toddler with me. The manager who came over said she didn't know how to suspend an order, again not well trained. I had to call my husband while I was in line in front of other people. How embarrassing. My card finally approved because my husband moved more money onto it. Turns out, my card now has two $147.00 charges from Kroger, both which have gone from pending to cleared.
The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because they have a better selection of some items than most stores around me and they are relatively...
Read moreWorst experience ever. I went to buy a $100 gift card for an employee I went to self check out and as soon as the computer said approved it froze and wanted an employee swipe. An employee came over and tried fixing it and then let me know it was canceled and I needed to go get a new card and go to a regular check out lane. He reassured me that my card had not been charged. I went to a regular lane and checked out I asked the cashier if one of the other girls was a manager and she said no but asked what I needed help with. I told them what just happened and again the 2 girls assured me that the card was not charged. Again on my way out I asked the self check out guy if it canceled out and he said yes. I waited a couple days because both charges were on my account saying pending but today both charges have gone through causing an over draft fee and when I called the store I got hung up on 2 times before I finally talked to someone who said she was a manager and told me I needed to be in the building to get my refund. I went to the store and to customer service and I asked the lady "are you the manager" she said no then I said I need to talk to her because she said she would give me a refund she asked me what for and I started to explain and then she said she was the person I talked to on the phone and asked me to hold on and asked for my card and ID and then gave me $100 bill... first of all with the gift card charge my card was charged $106.95 so I paid to get ripped off... second that does nothing for my bank to see that the overdraft fee was not my fault and third where the hell was...
