Paladin has provided our Internet service for over 3 years because we had no other options at our home when we first moved here. We experience service outages almost daily. We have expressed our frustrations with them and each time, although the customer service reps are kind enough, they offer no real solutions to our issues. Occasionally, during an outage, we will receive a text that says theyāre experiencing an outage and service should be back up shortly. When they reach out for satisfaction checks, we are honest and let them know that we are unhappy. They always say theyāll āmake a note of it and reach back outā but again, no real solutions are offered.
Earlier this year, we experienced a week-long outage due to what we would later learn was a cable that had been chewed through by an animal. We were told that they would credit our account for the outages but we have yet to see that credit. Prior to knowing what the issue was, we were told that a service fee would apply if the issue was our fault, and would not apply if the issue was on their end. When the technicians discovered that the cable had been chewed through, they had to run new cable to restore our service. Originally they told us we would have to pay around $250 for that repair - the service fee (since the issue was not theirs), as well as the charge for the new cable. Thankfully I was able to protest that we were not in control of local squirrels making snacks of our cables and they waived the service fee for us.
Last night, we were discussing other Internet options while streaming a show. Coincidentally, the show froze and suddenly we received a message on the TV that our Internet was out. We waited to see if it would come back on in a few minutes as it sometimes does, but it didnāt. Itās 6:10am and we still are without service. We have restarted our router and our devices to try to troubleshoot on our own, but nothing has worked so far. Their customer service reps and technicians have been kind to us; however, the service that we pay for is unreliable and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen I first bought into Paladin they were the best internet service provider in my area. Awesome Customer service as well. Nothing breeds failure like success. Today, the service is poor. I was down for 5 days before they could get to my location to replace the satellite radio. Over the past year, the speed after 8PM slows from 15 max to about 5 indicating that the bandwidth is overloaded. They also used to let you pause service in the past when you were going to be away from your location on vacation. They ended that this year with no mention to me.
I have been waiting on Starlink which I hope will improve my speed and have less interruptions, but that will have to wait. I have been trying Travel Data which is unlimited and unthrottled with. T-Mobile hotspot. I get 5G coverage from them outside Royston with consistent download speeds of 50mg and uploads of 30mg. I pay $62 per month and you can pause service as well as take it with you when traveling. Once I know it will be consistent after a couple months use, I will no longer need Paladin. I really miss the old Paladin and wish them...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had my doubts about Paladin when I first learned of them. I even kept ol'e Windstream active after I had Paladin install their service. Well, its been 90 days now since the install; Windstream is long gone in our house!
Their prices are very reasonable for what you get. Unlimited with no cables is much improved with what I was getting with prior provider. I receive around 15-20 MBPS down and 6-9 MBPS up. With Windstream I had 10 down and 1 up on their best day.
It is a small company that I hope will grow in the future. I found the staff friendly and helpful. Because they are small (at least for now) they have a personal relationship feeling when you talk to them.
I've read other reviews about their service going out. Ours went out once since we've had them. That outage was short. It is internet, not life support and in our case much better than Windstream. Their service went out at least once a week.
Keep up the good work guys. I hope you grow, but don't forget where you...
