Maeve’s mobile cocktail hour — Local services in Rye

Let me start by saying I’m disheartened to even share this was our experience, especially seeing so many great reviews. Since my Moms passing 2 weeks ago, my husband and I were looking forward to planning our sons birthday and having a something positive for family and friends to look forward to. We thought what could be better than some adult beverages for us to enjoy while we celebrated and enjoyed each others company and were instantly moved towards Maeve’s after looking at their instagram and positive reviews. My husband called them 4-24 and they told us they could not supply alcohol as it was a private residential property. They recommended the staffing option for $60/hr since we would need to supply our own alcohol. We agreed that this option was fine as we could provide a tiki bar to match the theme of the birthday. I emailed them the request form through their website as they had requested. Amy responded reminding us that again they could not supply alcohol but would provide us a shopping list. Responses back and forth were very quick. When I inquired about locking down the date Amy stopped responding. After no contact in 3 days my husband called to see if they were still interested in working with us. The person who spoke to us was very demeaning. Told us that it was busy wedding season and just making $150 for a body was not worth it for them. We were taken aback since this was what they offered and had recommended.l just days prior. We then said we understood and would be willing to pay to have the whole bar come out for $1,000. She then stated that ALSO would not be worth her time. She then told my husband that she was flustered because we called 4 times and kept emailing her? We only responded to emails and questions she asked and called twice. Once to inquire and get more information and a second time to see if they were still interested in working with us. They then kept saying they weren’t going to give us their recipes. We were confused because we never once asked for their recipes. They said they would give us a shopping list and help us design a menu. (See email below) we asked if there was any drinks they’ve made they would recommend. A pretty standard and normal question. Overall unless you are willing to drop over $1000 do not waste your time despite what their website says and what they say. We understand businesses prioritizing income since it what keeps them going. What we do not understand is treating prospective customers in such a belittling...

We recently hired Maeve's for a birthday party, and to say we were thrilled with their service would be an understatement! From start to finish, their team was exceptional, making our celebration incredibly smooth and enjoyable for everyone. The convenience of having them set up in our kitchen was fantastic. They then expertly circulated with an array of amazing finger foods to all our guests outside, impressively keeping everything tidy by discreetly picking up trash as they went. Our bartender was an absolute gem – friendly, fun, and a true professional. She crafted delicious drinks with a smile and effortlessly fit into the lively atmosphere of our party. Many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed chatting with her while she mixed up their cocktails. What truly set Maeve's apart was their professionalism and the seamless execution of the entire event. When the party was over, they cleaned everything up so thoroughly it was as if they were never there. Every member of their staff we interacted with was so nice and dedicated to making our event a success. Incredible!!!! Everyone had a blast:) Melissa helped me plan a birthday my friends 40th birthday that I hosted at my house. She brought all the supplies, decor, tools that were needed to completely transform my home into a fun bar. She brought a gorgeous bar and tables and brought all the supplies to teach is how to make two delicious cocktails. The bartender Alex taught us taught us about the drinks and also taught us some fun tips and tricks about how to make delicious drinks in the future It was a fun and engaging activity.
