UTTER DISASTER : Avoid harbor freight tools and Their Abysmal Customer Service
We purchased predator 3500 generator, we followed the instructions and it didnโt work. We brought it back the very next day to exchange it.
They told us to empty the generator of gas as they cannot take anything with gasoline in it, we understood and bought the gas pump to empty it out. Once we empty it out i brought it in.
Things were pretty smooth till i ask the guy what if the new generator doesnโt work or stops working. He said i can come back again. I asked him if there is any inconvenience charges. I smirked at my face and said no.
While checking for exchange, the lady there said we will have to pay the restock fee, i told her the piece was defective, then she said there will be no restocking fee.
While this was happening, i talked to my cousin and said if the product becomes defective after working a couple days, they will not provide refund. I donโt want the same product, as its a hassle to exchange such a heavy product and will have to pump out gas again. I thought to just return and get my refund.
They refused and said you can exchange and there is no certainty if the product will work or not and i cant get any refund without the restocking fee. The manager said, she checked the generator it we dint follow instructions to start it, and it became defective because of us, thats when i got pissed off.
First you provide defective product and then refuse to take it back.
At this point arguments started. They were rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. They clearly don't care about their customers or the garbage they peddle. It was like banging my head against a brick wall.
Top it off the guy put paper cloth in the beginning to soak up leftover gas, which is did ask him not to.
They refused us service and threaten to call the cops. I told them to call the cops.
I would have just left if they not just put the damn paper cloth in the gas tank.
The disorganization, poor product quality, and lackluster customer service make me hesitant to return or recommend this store to others looking for reliable wholesale options.
Save yourself time and money, go at places like Costco or home depot where they better policies and better employees.

Well, today, I learned a hard lesson. I did a no receipt return thinking they can pull it up with my phone number. The manager told me..."we can look up your receipt but it is aginst our policy to do it. I don't know who told you that." Really? She refused and stood her ground citing she is the manager and it is Harbor Freight's. I almost made a scene because I was like...WHAT THE?...in shock. Really? I was lied too. You can but you won't? Talk about customer service being flushed down the drain.
I know who told me that because I frequent this place. She had the nerves to ask me" well, is he here now?" Now that was the kicker that almost made me flip. Should I accept this challenge and follow through letting her know who he is?
Lesson learned. Do not believe the cashier when he/she says they can look up your receipt. Always keep your original receipt that the ink will fade away in about a month.
Now, I needed the tool set so I purchased it anyways. Well, the cashier did not input my phone number because I asked for an email recipt as well as a paper receipt. I did not get an electronic receipt due to their error.
I asked the manger if a picture of the original reciept will he just as vaild and she said "yes." Haha...been lied to once already. I don't know, but my wife and kids were waiting in the van so I wasnt in a position to argue. Internet access also sucks at this location so I could not search my emails fast enough. Otherwise, I would had made her do a refund and rerung me up under my account. Well, we shall see how valid her word is.
I have already been fooled and made to look like a fool once.
1 star for manager on this day. 5 star for prices. Average = 3...

Update : change score 12/1/2021 My jack broke, I return the jack and asked if I can get an exchange since it was less than 90 days from my purchase date. The cashier and the Lead floor Manager need to be more professional. Instead of helping I felt attacked instead of being helped, no options or effort to assure me some type of satisfaction, I know something could had been done but instead I walked out embarrassed. Lost a good customer poor personal and service. I got no assurance of help or any other option to make this process work as a win win scenerio Northgate store has unprofessional staff. Learn to be proactive courteous and offer options not just ""no, nope, can't, nothing I can do for you""
Update: 12/2/2021 I called back today and requested to speak with the Manager. I spoke with Jordan-Store Manager Northgate store. I explain what happen on 12/1/2021 and the poor service I received. He listen, he acknowledge my concerns, and bridge to resolve my needs. He was able to print out my receipt and I was within the 90 day return policy. I decided to upgrade my Jack to a 3 tone, because he was sincere about his apology and taking ownership and responsibility on behalf of his staff. I give...
