Sacramento is very fortunate to have its fair share of Hawaiian BBQ restaurants. And this place, "Tasty Hawaiian BBQ" is no exception. In fact, it is one of the better spots I've eaten at in comparison to the more popular places such as "L&L" and "Ono". Located in the South Natomas area of Sacramento, Tasty Hawaiian BBQ has been in business since 2018. The best way to find this place is that it is right off of Northgate Blvd. and tucked in between the Arden-Garden connector and W. El Camino Ave. The parking lot is shared with several small business as well as a 99 Cents Only Store.
As far as the inside at least during my visit (on Sunday 6/19/2022), indoor dining was closed and everything was takeout only. Even though it has only been opened for a few years, it had an old school hole-in-the-wall feel to it. The large menu directly behind the main counter was large and easy to read. Here you will find several options including family meals, regular-sized meals, mini meals, appetizers, rice bowls, and tropical smoothies. Since I wasn't craving a full-on meal, I ended up going with a ""BBQ Beef" mini meal while my +1 went with their "Teriyaki Chicken" mini meal. These were priced at $7.99 which is quite a good deal considering the sharp increase in food prices.
Within less than 5 minutes, our meals were ready. They were conveniently placed in a styrofoam container complete with one small teriyaki sauce and utensils. Since the weather was very cooperative, I drove to a nearby park to enjoy my lunch. After opening up the container, I was impressed with how generous the portion was for the mini. This included several very hearty cuts of beef complete with moist white rice, creamy macaroni salad, and buttered cabbage. The flavor was out of bounds amazing as the beef itself was seasoned to perfection. The macaroni salad also had excellent flavor while everything tasted superior to some of their major competitors out there.
After factoring in the service (which was excellent), prices (also excellent), and most importantly the food taste and quality, I am giving "Tasty Hawaiian BBQ" a solid five-star rating. I've been to quite a few amazing Hawaiian BBQ restaurants around Sacramento, the Bay Area, and Los Angeles and this place definitely ranks up there at the...
Read more4.5 Stars. Tasty Hawaiian BBQ is the very best Hawaiian BARBEQUE you can obtain in the Natomas area. Their chicken katsu is an absolute winner! It is crunchy on the outdoors, as well as tender as well as tasty, specifically when dipped in their katsu sauce. Their parts are charitable as well as will certainly not leave you hungry. My favored order is the Katsu Mix ($9.49), which is not provided on their menu, but is in fact their Hawaiian BARBEQUE mix with katsu chicken rather than teriyaki hen. It comes with generous portions of meats - Kalbi ribs, BBQ beef, as well as poultry katsu, plus steamed veggies, white rice, as well as a side of macaroni salad. The kalbi ribs are wonderful, however not consistent in dimension. I had one regular sized piece and also one truly small piece. The BARBEQUE beef and also macaroni salad both have good taste. The kalua pork with cabbage ($7.99) is additionally a good order. It's not the best kalua pork I have actually had, as the tastes are a little extra subtle as well as the pieces of cabbage are rather thick, yet still rather great. The hen teriyaki was not poor also. Not as tender, but excellent. Yummy Hawaiian BBQ lies in the exact same plaza as the 99 cent shop off Northgate Blvd. The dining establishment is extremely laid-back with a good variety of tables. I such as that they offer Hawaiian Sunlight drinks along with their water fountain drinks. Besides the proprietor, the cashiers do not have as much knowledge relating to the food selection things and rates. Likewise, there are a whole lot of products on their food selection, which have been taken off since they initially opened up as well as published their menus. There are still a lot of fantastic things on the food selection, some much better than others, however on the whole, really terrific worth and...
Read moreI ordered the ribs they are good but i feel like they can be cooked a little longer cus they were a little chewy and it started to get stuck in my teet other than that i give the food a 7 i really like the macaroni and veggies thats a big plus and the place is clean but the signs everywhere make it kind of uncomfortable. The soda machine is turned off and will be turned on when asked to wich is weird. I get it homeless come aeound but if you see the customers are coming in keep it on.. i also moticed the small portion of siracha that is sold for 50 cents, this is another low cus how you charge for salsa something not even prepackaged and you dont show the brand you are using. For extra sweet sauces i get it but Sriracha cmon thats like charging for ketchup lol. I think if the place would remove so much of the the hand written labels it would be a comfy spot to go and eat cus it looks like some people eat and go or take it to go. I do really like the food the shrimp was good the katsu was good also but some things like a friendly hello and welcoming feel would be nice for giving you guys some business something like a appreciation cus the people never say hi i always walk up to the counter and have...
