In Feb 2024 I was up at 4am eating a pb&j as I usually was because my mind was always ruminating about everything. My cousin posted about joining this gym and I remember thinking I should join her since I was up early. When my first day came I did not feel good about what I was wearing or how I looked. I was hesitant to go and started to cry. I told myself I looked ugly and I was too big. I was scared but deep inside I was excited so I went. The first class was a lower body workout and it kicked my butt. I remember struggling with hip thrusts, placing bands on my legs and squatting. Who an I kidding I struggled from start to finish and I thought I was going to drop dead right there. Other members were encouraging me and telling me I was doing great but I was beyond embarrassed and almost positive I would not be going back. The following day I could not stand up or sit, the most comfortable position was laying down. I felt like a failure. I thought I’m definitely not going back but after a day of resting I showed up and even though I felt like I was dragged by a bus I soon found relief in the movements. Su saw my lower back was hurting and pulled me aside to help me stretch and massage my back. I think that’s when I realized The Vault was the gym for me. I felt welcomed, I felt taken care of and I felt like I could be where I am at physically without others judging me. I realized I am my worst critic. It’s now June and I just keep showing up, whether I am sleep deprived, hungry, exhausted from a long day of appointments and juggling work I am there. My initial goal was to lose weight. My current goal is to improve my strength and incorporate movement into my life along with intuitive eating to improve my mental health. I’ve even signed up for group PT. I’ve come so far from that first day. I can now keep up with my active toddler and I have energy to play with him. Am I still tired of course but on most days I have more energy than before and that’s because of the Vault.
Su is currently expanding the gym and she offers fun hikes, monthly challenges, monthly raffles, videos and pictures showing your growth, weekend bootcamps and lots more. Su is also a role model for all the members as she holds herself accountable, she shares that she also prioritizes her mental and physical health and knows when to take breaks and you will often see her juggling her toddler while she herself is working out with us.
If you’re thinking of joining please do. Sign up for the trial and invest in yourself. You will soon be signing up for a membership. Come at whatever fitness level you are at and everyone at the Vault will be happy to encourage and...
Read moreI have been a member for a little over 2yrs now. I met Suzanna one morning while I was at the park she had a group of woman out there bootcamp style I had seen them a few times but I was Intimidated to go up to this group of strong woman. Finally I had the guts to do it one morning and it was the best decision I had made for myself. I was very self conscious of my body, I had let go of myself, felt like I never had the time to work out. But Suzanna offered different times throughout the day to go in and work out in her garage back then. There was no excuse not to join! The woman I originally met made me feel welcomed, we all became close we all were busy working moms with the same goals. Over time it became a habit to work out if became fun. Suzanna has helped me with my self esteem, I’ve gotten stronger. Working out has become my hobby and I thank Suzanna for the reminders, checking in on me when I would miss days and for motivating me to not give up! Vault Fitness has now become my happy place. Suzanna is fast to reply back to you when you have last minute questions/concerns. She’s very understanding and caring as well. Suzanna is on top of maintaining the cleanliness of the gym throughout the day. I couldn’t ask for a better gym to work out in surrounded by strong...
