I recently used them to check out the stove and ice maker issue that the tenants reported. I don't live in Florida and need to have a company that I can trust to fix what is broke and charge me a reasonable price for the work.
The tech called me and say that the ice maker was leaking and needed to be replaced. The stove had two switches that were bad and needed to be replaced as well. He stated that he could do that for $325.00 ( I forgot the exact amount) I asked what the cost of the ice maker was and he said $200.00. I told them that I thought that for $69.00 back in the day and I didn't under stand why it would be $200.00. He stated that there ice maker is $100.00 and there service call fee is $100.00 to install it. I told them that would be understandable if that was the only thing that they were going to do but they were going to fix the stove as well. Needless to say I called the office tried to negotiate with them on the cost but they would not budge. I found the ice maker on Lowes website for Frigidaire Refrigerator Ice Maker Kit Item #: 165156 $49.88. I think this will be the last time that I use them.
I wanted to post and update to my review. My tenant called and said there was a mushroom (you read that right) growing at the bottom of the cabinet next to the refrigerator. I called ServPro and asked them to check it out and let me know what the found. The technician called me and said that the water supply valve for the ice maker was leaking. The water entered the bottom of the cabinet next to the refrigerator and caused the bottom of the cabinet to swell up. ServPro did a great job they removed the cabinet dried everything out and treated for mold. Well it is one year later and the $200.00 Ice maker water supply valve that is located on the back of the refrigerator leaked and caused over $1000.00 worth of damage. I called Debows to give them a chance to make it right. I was even going to pay them to change the water supply valve. But when the lady found out that I posted this review didn't want anything to do with fixing it or doing the right thing. I explained to her that I wanted to give them a change to make it right and if they did I would in turn post that they did the right thing. She said that she did care and doubted that I would post anything. Well I guess she was wrong again. So I will find a good repair person that can change a water supply valve and stand behind...
   Read moreI called them because my ice maker wasn’t making ice. They replaced a valve. $175.00. Two months later same problem. They come out and replace the same valve. No charge for the part, but $55 for the labor. Technician leaves and ice maker starts making ice, but the ice sticks together and there is frozen water in the tray. I’ve paid this company $230 and ice maker is still not working. Third call. Technician comes out. and says the ice maker is leaking and needs to be replaced. $250. I didn’t ask if that included labor. Is it coincidence that the ice maker started leaking right after the second call? I don’t know. Tech also said ice makers only last 2 years. I said why didn’t you tell me this during the first call. Then he said they sometimes last 4 years. Whatever. Just a bad experience.    Read moreI am just blown away by the service I received today! My appliances are 4 years old, so it's distressing to have things fail. Shawn took the time to explain what was wrong and the cost to repair. He also shared the life expectancy of the fridge. We also have a dishwasher control panel refusing to change functions without having to slam the door, which is frustrating.
Both repair estimates were more than fair, but based on Shawn's information and guidance, we are putting off the minor inconveniences and looking into replacements in the not too far distance.
It is not often any more that a company has such integrity to look out for the customer's well-being over a buck. I guarantee I would not have had a similar experience with a different company.
