Moore Lake — Local services in Saint Charles

Access to this lake is via either the Fountain Lakes Park Trail or a small informal parking area adjacent to Huster Rd.

This lake is less visited because of the noise caused by Highway 370 being close. However, the fish do not mind the highway. The lake is managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation. They have limits posted.

In the past, I caught crappie which were under the cover of trees along the bank. Today, I saw that the trees are now gone. Although Fountain Lakes Park has accessible features, picnic tables, and restrooms, none of these are close...

It’s hit or miss.. lots of turtles to eat your bait. Cluttered with gar and carp. Hardly catch crappie or bass ect. Not saying I haven’t ( 2.2 is biggest) tho I’ve heard stories from others there is bigger fish. People take too many fish they’re not suppose to. Conservation can’t enforce rules.
