Read moreJust checked in an so far I've been incredibly disappointed. My boss booked me here for a business trip, and from experiences at other Sleep Inn's, I was expecting SO much more. On arrival, the exterior looked a little suspect, and the outdoor pool looked like a cesspool. Since they have an indoor pool (more on that in a moment) and no longer use it, I overlooked it. As I was checking in, the front desk clerk looked at my I.D. and made a rude joke about how I had gained a lot of weight. When I snapped back and said, "I know I'm fat." he tried to back pedal and call himself fat. I was not amused. On the way up the elevator, someone had scribbled "South Side" on the elevator panel, which made me wonder about the safety of the location. I get into my room, which seemed fine on first glance. However, the sliding bathroom door is extremely crooked until you close it. The paint and Spackle from where they remodeled the room was sloppy. It is on the bathroom floor and shower. The room also had an off, musty smell to it. The shower literally has one tiny shelf that only fits one bottle of shampoo. I decided to try and go for a swim, but the indoor pool was unfit to swim in. The water was a bit cloudy, and it looked like algae was forming on the bottom of the pool, and in a certain angle from the light, you could see dirt and other stuff like hair floating on the top of the pool. I got back up to my room, and decided to call the front desk to voice my complaints, except my room phone didn't work! So I went down to the front desk to tell them about my problems, except they were nowhere to be found. WHAT. A. JOKE! If you can, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I am stuck here since the reservation was made by my employer, but you have the power to steer clear of this carnival sideshow! I haven't had an opportunity to try their breakfast, and I'm not sure I even want to. I'm letting my boss know so that he doesn't book...
Read moreI stay at this hotel at least once every winter season for work purposes and have for several years. It seems to me that it is declining more and more year after year which is very surprising to me as compared to a really nice Sleep Inn I have stayed at in Milwaukee. This hotel is seeming more like a Motel 6 although I do understand this is not a high end chain. The room seemed drab and carpets looked worn. The lamp shades looked stained and not even properly fastened to the fixture. The floor was wet around the base of the toilet and the door to the shower allowed water to seep onto the floor as there was a large gap around the edge of the shower door. One side of grill of the ac unit was coming apart. The remote would not work on the tv. There was coffee provided for the in room coffee pot, but the holder/basket was missing that actually hold the coffee filter/grounds for the unit. The paint in the room looked drab and the caulking around the shower etc looked very shabby. Basically these rooms need to be updated and re- carpeted and revived. Everything just seemed really unfresh and no mind paid to details. My stay was paid for by my company or I would personally go to the Holiday Inn around the corner based on my analysis. The owners need to step up their game before this hotel slips down the drain all together. If you can't invest in keeping a nice establishment than you don't need to run it. A nice, clean, & comfortable home away from home is important to many of us and we do notice the flaws. My room was located on the ground floor. I hope if I stay here again things improve so I do not have to proceed to informing the corporation that owns the franchise. This is not the sort of establishment I would expect of a Sleep Inn hotel. Very disappointed ☹
Ok, as of 2021 things have improved in my opinion. I had a much better experience this...
