Us Nails — Local services in Saint Charles

Women and men of color. This is not the place of business for you. I called this shop and inquired about pricing and if an appointment was needed. I was told I can come in. I brought my self and my three daughters. Upon, arriving I was informed that there are two appointments that will take priority during our visit. I stated we understand we’re walking in take your time. There is only two people working a husband and wife. There were three customers already present in the store. One customer the wife was finishing a manicure on. There was also a mother and daughter present. The husband and wife rushed through the entire service. They didn’t provide certain things that are included in the pedicure, no massage, no callus removals. They soaked my 5 and 7 year olds nails in the water and took them out and started polishing with regular polish although charging for gel. They were dropping instruments, washing towels and trying to work on 4 customers at the same time. I do believe they were rushing because they felt they were going to not be able to honor appointment times. My thirteen year old had been receiving services and begin to complain about the bulking of the nail and the different shapes of the nails. The wife became immediately frustrated and started yelling at her about how she should have said something sooner. She doesn’t want to start over. She then started speaking to the husband in their native language. I pulled out my google translate and she was referencing us as angry black customers and stating that we were trying to get out of the service. Called us the N Word. I offered to pay upfront by the way I was told to pay at the end. Her husband stated he would fix the nail. The wife became more irritated and started yelling now and then returned to speaking in her native language. The husband then said he won’t fix it, we need to pay for the removal of all the nails and another full set for them to fix it. I refused and I asked for the police to be called. A customer who also was in the shop getting services offered to pay for our service. I declined and requested the police. I was initially told I would be arrested for theft and then after looking at my kids who are witnessing all this they decided to issue me a ticket. I can’t wait to see this lovely couple in court. The most discriminatory establishment I’ve ever been in. We never yelled, never rushed, never even asked about the wait time or when they would be done. I’m a nursing student and I was actually studying. So there was no rush. They tried to paint the image of an angry black woman in a establishment full of white people and officers. Because a thirteen year old said a few nails were bulky. SMH see you in court. They also don’t issue receipts, have no prices posted literally making different prices up they told me it will be $10 cheaper on the phone and charged more when I showed up 2 mins after calling. In addition, they refused to provide proof of payment because I wanted to use cash. She stated customers get a receipt if they pay with a card not if they pay with cash. I will be contacting the better business bureau and the city of st. Charles city hall. Sounds like somebody is evading...

Tom and Tracy are the best! They have done my nails and my mom’s nails for years. They have always done them well but also quick and efficiently! They have the best service and my nails last so much longer here compared to other places! They are always willing to fix something if you want corrections! They have even done great work for our family prior to my sisters wedding on a large group of us while still doing a fantastic job! On top of that, they are always very friendly and welcoming to everyone who comes in and strive to give them the best service to all their customers! Picture of my most recent manicure with beautiful color! Tracy even suggested this color over another color because she said that the color would show up better. She demonstrated on her own nail to give me a good picture and let me pick! She is amazing! Prices ARE listed in stores with the best price I can find...

I have been getting my nails done SOLELY at this shop since before the present owners bought it in 2004. I won't let anyone else touch my nails. The owners are courteous and will even go so far as to fix damage I've done to a nail, on short notice. Their prices are reasonable and clearly posted behind the front counter on a wall display and have been the entire 20 years I have been a customer. They have a wide range of customers, in age and ethnicity. In my presence, ALL have been serviced politely! I would recommend this shop to ANY and EVERYONE!
