I had been wanting to check out Taco Spot since I heard a birria ramen eatery had opened in the local area. Upon entry the restaurant was crowded, warm, and humid. Seating is available in dining room and outside. The staff were friendly. I ordered birria tacos, birria pizza, birria ramen, birria quesadilla, a bean and cheese burrito, and an agua fresca. I must admit the agua fresca was refreshing on such a hot and humid day. The Birria Tacos and consommé were rather simple in flavor, mostly salty and onion forward. The birria pizza which was essentially a layered quesabirria came with consommé, pickled jalepenos, and nacho cheese, the flavors were simple here as well, the nacho cheese was overly salty, akin to Rico’s canned nacho cheese sauce, the pickled jalapeños were the highlight when it came to the birria pizza. The birria quesadilla was essentially the same experience as the birria pizza, but on a smaller scale, with no jalapeño or nacho cheese. The birria ramen was a delightful contrast to the birria options, the broth, combined with the birria, ramen, and onions, really brought more complexity in the flavor that was presented, to note the onions on most of the birria dishes were raw, the fact that the ramen broth cooked the onions and released the locked in flavor, really helped elevate the birria ramen experience. The bean burrito had a solid amount of refried beans and was filled with cheese, nothing amazing about the beans or cheese flavor wise, however it will please someone looking for a simple bean and cheese burrito. Overall the experience was solid but the tastes and offerings could be improved, the prices were a little high for the offerings, the location was a bit overcrowded, I’d describe it as a middling birria experience. The only stand out and reason I’d recommend checking out Taco Spot is the...
Read moreIf there's a food pairing that captures both savory satisfaction and sweet delight, it's tacos and churros. I recently indulged in both at a local Mexican street food stall, and the experience was nothing short of a culinary celebration.
Tacos were the main act — warm, soft corn tortillas cradling tender meats, fresh cilantro, diced onions, and a squeeze of lime. Each bite was an explosion of flavor: the smoky heat of the grilled carne asada, the zesty brightness of the toppings, and the depth from homemade salsas. They were messy in the best way — dripping with authenticity and heart.
Then came the churros, golden and crisp on the outside, soft and doughy inside, coated in a generous dusting of cinnamon sugar. Served with a side of warm chocolate sauce, they were pure indulgence. The contrast between the warm sweetness and the spiced crunch was addictive — the perfect dessert to follow the spice...
Read moreHorrible experience walked in and there was a couple people in line ordering so we used the tablet kiosk to order. While ordering we got wind that they were out of 3/4 of the protein options.. okay fine that wasn’t what we wanted anyways. We waited 30 minutes then placed a separate order for drinks.. another 30 minutes went by and the entire place cleared out. We were told they were busier than expected.
I will tell you 3-4 other people came up and brought up errors, the table next to us didn’t get all of their food either. How odd because another couple who walked in literally ordered the same food as our daughter but got it after 5-10 minutes.
This place was basically dead and we requested a refund. One more hour and they would’ve been closed we probably still wouldn’t have gotten our food. Don’t waste your time, money,...
