This is my favorite Aldi to shop at. I've been getting all my groceries here for the past few months basically. But during the holiday seasons there is too much "theft" apparently, so they have all of the self checkouts shutdown except 2 stations....and one single cashier working. It's pretty frustrating, and makes shopping here take much longer than it should. The reasoning here for keeping the registers shutdown seems like a bad excuse to me just not to hire people, so your customers can have to have an unpleasant experience. I'd pay a dollar or two more for some items if it meant I could actually checkout.
Hopefully the 5th Street Aldi won't have this same policy or I might be getting my groceries elsewhere. Very disappointed in Aldi, not sure if this is the norm but wanted to share my feedback in hopes that they improve on this.
Also just wanted to note, makes it seem like you don't trust the community you're setup in...and is a pretty big turn off just not to shop here in general if that's how Aldi as a company feels about the St....
Read moreWhat a joke of a store. Extremely poor service. Every time I’ve placed a curbside pickup, I’ve ended up having to go inside to pick up my order after sitting the car 10+ minutes waiting. The last time, there were four cars sitting and waiting. We all ended up going inside and the employee was extremely rude and dismissive when we attempted to ask what the consistent issue is. Employees stocking need to have customer awareness. Yes you have a job to do; however, if it’s obvious a customer needs an item in the area you’re stocking, allow that customer to get their item and then continue with your work. Today at the checkout, I place all my items on the belt to be scanned. The employee gets up, walks away and starts looking for items in the isles. I took all my items and went to self checkout. I had just finished scanning my last item when she finally returned to her station; meaning I would have stood there waiting that entire time. Unbelievable. Read moreNew self check outs are annoying at any store but of course we got a register that had the receipt paper in backwards so we got a blank one. Asked an employee and she fixed it and said she could get it reprinted but then left us standing there for several minutes so we left with out it. This was after we were unable to use a non chip card because the card reader was mounted improperly causing the metal plate on top to block the swipe. We have encountered this at MANY locations and it's absolutely ridiculous.
