Love City Market — Local services in Saint John

This store has expanded since our last visit and I was very pleased with the selection. It is important to keep in mind that this is a somewhat remote island market. Comparing it to a chain in the mainland U.S. wouldn't be fair and it is by no means a true grocery store.

However, it has a decent assortment of items you might want or need while on vacation and the high prices are to be expected in exchange for the convenience of not having to travel to Cruz Bay. Overall I am very happy to have this store as an option...

It’s a small grocery store but they have everything! The staff is super friendly! Like all stores, prices may be a little more than the mainland. To party hard “on the cheap,” we stocked up on Cruzan dark rum, gallon jugs of water, cheese, crackers and meats. They also sell ice, so we bought that daily to ice down our Presidente beer. They have what you need. If they don't, there are two other grocery stores in town. No fresh meat, but good selection of frozen foods and vegetables. Chips, wines and beers, too.
