BUYER BEWARE - DECEPTIVE SALES PRACTICES
I hate that I am leaving a bad review as my salesman was fantastic and the majority of my experience was positive BUT at the end of the day I felt taken advantage of. I spoke directly with sales manager Michael Corey regarding a 2015 Chevy Silverado I was interested in purchasing and I asked him multiple times whether or not the vehicle had "any imperfections" as I would be making the 3 hour drive from Portland, Maine, to make the purchase.
Mr. Corey emphatically stated that the vehicle was free of any imperfections and even went as far as to say that he personally looked over this vehicle himself when they took it in so he could vouch for it with 110% certainty. I of course took him at his work as he seemed very down to earth and truthful in my conversations with him. Upon my arrival to the dealership I noticed a significant dent in the top of the tailgate as well as a sagging bumper (3" gap between the bumper and the body on both sides of the vehicle). I brought this to the attention of my salesman and pointed out that I was told the vehicle had no imperfections and felt that the price should be reduced to make up for the repairs that will need to be done. My salesman talked to Mr. Corey who refused to budge on the price. At this point I felt frustrated and taken advantage of as I now had essentially no leverage due to the fact that I drove 3 hours to buy this truck. To make matters even worse, I explained to Mr. Corey that I was purchasing this vehicle because I had a 3 month old baby and needed something safe for him. Clearly in the end all he cared about was money (he didn't even talk to me the entire time I was at the dealership).
I purchased the truck for just shy of $27,000 (as well as a $2000 extended warranty) which is quite a large purchase, and once I was back in Portland I took the truck to a body shop and received an estimate of $1400 for the preexisting repairs. I sent the estimate as well as a carefully drafted letter to general manager Nathan Loschiavo asking that they do right by me as a customer and pay the repair costs. I did not receive a response.
This is NOT how you treat your customers especially when you rely on repeat business and referrals to friends and family. I now have a very expensive truck and a baby to pay for so it will be awhile before I can pay for the necessary repairs that constantly bother each and every time I go out to my truck. To say that I am frustrated and disappointed would be a severe...
Read moreSince coming home from being stationed in Colorado Springs we’ve been going to St J Jeep Dodge for servicing our 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan. When we purchased the vehicle last July, we bought a 60 month maintenance and oil change warranty through MOPAR and we were told it would be honored at any Jeep Dodge dealership in the US. When moving home to Vermont all I needed was a copy of the warranty, which I gave to the service department when I started scheduling appointments with them as of January 2020. Yesterday my husband brought the van over for an oil change and tire rotation and even though when I made the appointment I repeatedly told the girl we had it covered, they told my husband it was $62 and change after the appointment. He paid it without an argument, I found out this morning and I called over to speak to someone. I was told by a sales team member that service is closed on Saturday’s, which is fine - and that since they just changed ownership they wouldn’t be honoring a warranty purchased at another dealership, even though that wasn’t the case previously and it’s a MOPAR vehicle protection plan through FCA US LLC and not through the specific dealer. I’ll be calling them Monday to speak with someone in service but honestly be careful when dealing with these people. They don’t seem to care about customers, especially repeat customers. Consumer be warned.
Edit: Monday (November 9th) I not only got in touch with the service department quickly but I also had someone on their social media reach out. I got a full refund and was explained that with the dealership ownership changing hands meant notes on previous customer profiles did not transfer. The gentleman I spoke with also assured me that the dealership will be honoring the warranty and apologized for the confusion. I edited my original one star review to a four star review based on my interactions with...
Read moreWalking into the St. Johnsbury Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership, I was nervous and apprehensive about purchasing a new car on my own. However, I was very soon put at ease by salesman, Kyle Morrison, who very methodically walked me through the process. He gathered the information from me he would need to determine the type of car I was interested in buying and the features I was looking for in a new car. In all honesty, I was initially interested in a brand of car that they did not sell at this dealership, other than on a certified used basis. Kyle introduced me to a new 2024 Jeep Compass Limited that they had on the lot. He pulled it out in front of the dealership and I looked it over. I immediately liked what I saw, the exterior was appealing, as was the luxury interior. We went on a test drive and I have to say that I was impressed with the smooth ride and the pep and quick "get up & go" the car exhibited when going uphill and the smooth ride on the back country roads. This was the first test drive I had driven, but I was convinced that I didn't need or want to drive any other car. This was the car I wanted to purchase. Kyle could not have made the whole process any easier for me. He is a very good salesman and listens intently to what you are saying and asks all the right questions. He even followed up with me after the purchase several times to see if I had any questions or concerns and offered to go over and explain some of the details of the car with me whenever I am in town to stop by and he will answer any questions. I am very appreciative of the time, work, patience and efforts he put into bringing this whole process to fruition. I am a very satisfied customer and would recommend anyone looking for a new car to give Kyle Morrison at St. Johnsbury Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram your business. You won't be disappointed! - Sue LaPointe,...
