American Legion — Local services in Saint Paul Park

American Legion Post 98 is a Welcoming place. The Staff is professional and good humored, the customers are friendly. The drink prices are reasonable; the food from the 328 Grille is simply amazing. This menu has a continuous variety of new items. Thursdays during lunch hours a group of musicians play in the back hall, it is on a speaker in the bar- not too loud to interfere with your conversations.

Community Service events happen year ‘round: In November there’s a large Toys For Tots event. Members volunteer service time at the MN Veteran’s Home in Hastings all year long. Today was Heritage Days, the annual City celebration- In the morning there was a Tractor Pull competition on Broadway in front, in the afternoon live wrestling in the back parking lot. Saturday night the movie “Goonies” was projected on the patio, with costumes, games and activities for the kids.

Finally ordered food from the grill there. Went to get it and it turned out if was the 100th birthday for the legion. Was very busy. Food was great. Wild rice soup and chicken and burgers were all really good. Best food in the area unless you go to Woodbury or Saint Paul.

I was only person with a mask on in sight, which sucks but was no surprise. Called in to order food a week later and the grill is closed. Related?

Didn't check beer list as I did take out. I imagine they have a variety of lagers and pilsners and one ipa....hopefully. c'mon. Just one...

Recently had "celebration of life" gathering here. No outside food allowed in so ordered from the A.L. The presentation of the food, not so good. We hoped that the quality of the food would overshadow the presentation. Sadly, that was not the case. NOT 1 positive review from ANY of the 100 family/friends. Pulled pork had plenty of "heat" already. Guests were warning each other NOT to use the BBQ sauce! The canned baked beans also had alot of heat, much of them scraped into garbage can.
