The owner was extremely rude. Iâve always wanted to stop in because I saw interesting things in the window but the shop was always closed even when it said it was open. When I finally got to go into the store the owner watched me like she assumed I would steal. My friend asked about an item he was interested in but was damaged a bit so he was wondering if that was the price considering the damage to it. She said âI donât do that here.â I was confused at first and realized she meant bartering. He said he was going to pass on the item and was going to leave it with her at the front but she yelled at him to put it back. Store is a huge cluttered mess so we put it back where we thought it went and she yelled more that we put it in the wrong spot while she sat at the front and refused to move and point and kept trying to make us put it in a different spot. The lady she helped before who was white, she was super nice to. I have to assume she doesnât like people of color. I bought something small because I assumed maybe she was just having a bad day but she was still rude during the entire interaction. The phone rang and she went back to being âniceâ to them on the phone. When I got home I realized my item was damaged but I have no interest in going back and speaking with her as it was all so unpleasant. All the items are priced extremely high for the quality of the items and most if not...
Read moreStopped into the Center for Lost Objects and quickly realized the only thing really lost here is common sense. I tried snapping a quick pic of a plain black shirt that said âI make my mom sad every dayâ â a slogan thatâs literally everywhere online â and got told not to. Sorry, but if youâre selling a generic design you probably whipped up in five minutes, donât act like itâs the Mona Lisa.
Then my little brother picked up a creepy doll to show me (because Iâm into that kind of weird stuff), and the owner snapped at him like he had just set the place on fire. She said it was delicate and couldâve broken. Uh, okay? If itâs that breakable, maybe donât leave it out where kids â or literally anyone â can pick it up? Try a sign, a case, or just common sense. Meanwhile, there was a dog walking around the shop. So apparently a dog is fine around breakables, but an actual human child isnât?
And donât even get me started on the prices. The vibe might be âquirky thrift,â but the price tags scream âboutique scam.â $40 for a shirt that looks like it was made in MS Paint? Be serious.
I work in retail. I know how to deal with customers, kids included. And yelling at them isnât it. If youâre running a store filled with fragile stuff and you donât want it touched â label it. Donât lash out.
Plenty of cool shops in the area. Skip this one. Itâs not worth your time, your money, or...
Read moreI took off work early off of work to go to this place to buy a vase they had posted online. I spoke with the post person online about their hours. I took off work at four to get there by five. I got there and the door was locked and back in five minutes. It was super super hot out. Iâm handicap. I waited for 10 minutes. Nobody came. I headed back to my car when I got in my car I saw someone went in the door so I called the phone number sure enough they were back open again I swear under my breath because I could barely breathe from my asthma, but I got out of my car and I went to the door and the person behind the counter, berated me severely for swearing under my breath on the phone and said I needed to check my attitude. I said maybe she needed to check her attitude because I was handicapped. I was having trouble breathing from the heat. She said I donât have the hours right and who did I get my information from? Theyâre open till six I shouldnât have had to take off of work. She was incredibly incredibly rude to me. I saw so many things in that store that were cute but I told her I was leaving them all there because of her rudeness donât go to the store and that was the...
