Of all the local stores Encore is the best! I am a personal shopper and consignor. I have been in most of the consignment stores in the St. Paul and surrounding suburbs to sell and buy clothing for my customers. Out of over 20 stores, Encore is by far the best. Their selection is fantastic, their prices are right on, and their customer service is like it was back in the old days. The owner is very straightforward and doesn't beat around the bush. I love that. I find it very helpful when they tell me why they are not taking items. They do this not only for their benefit but yours as well. One of the first times I was in the store I found a great jacket that was perfect for one of my clients it was very high end and it was brand new. I went to pay for it and the cashier noticed a flaw, pointed it out and asked if I still was interested. When I said yes she discounted the the price. The jacket was worth way more to me than what I paid and the service was top notch. I have been back several times and will continue to go. As a side note I have had several of my things stolen from "other" stores and they always tell me that's a risk you take but I have never lost anything due to theft or damage at Encore. Best to consign and shop - love love...
Read moreI used to loveeee encore I’ve gone for YEARS but today just honestly kinda sucked! Went in it’s been a few months and idk if they got new owners or what! I have had nothing but lovely staff in there who were kind and helpful but today a lady with a very very short ginger pixie cut who was older was working and my god was she rude!!! She was being very overbearing in the changing rooms! Yelled at a girl who didn’t have a hanger for a dress! And was just in total super hovery and werid to not just me but seemingly everyone in the store. I think she meant for the best and was trying to be helpful but it came off as if she thought I was gonna steal and was being snarky and kinda crazy and obsessive. The prices have gone up which also didn’t help :( bought one shirt for way to much and was sad walking out hope it can...
Read moreafter my 40+ years of shopping here today I found new owner, new layout, new music. Tips for owner: get rid of the country music and go back to the familiar vintage that has been in the background forever. The shoes are in 3 different places which is not only confusing but an unpleasant shopping experience. They should be arranged by size only! Also, racks that hang clothes perpendicular to the wall is poor merchandising. I guess I'm not good with change but before this I could go directly to the racks with designer label items. The old store was so great. Why did they have to change everything??? After all these years and numerous treasured "finds" I suspect that I won't...
