When my wife and I were engaged, we were looking for a smaller, neighborhood, family jewlery shop to help us design a custom wedding band for my wife. I had purchased an engagement ring from an on-line retailer. We were trying to avoid the mall and chain jewlery stores. We could not have found a better place than Gold'n Treasures. The vibe there is outstanding as are the employees and the owner Todd. This had been his mom's store. Todd and his employees were very patient and not once tried to sell us anything or up-sell etc. Any future jewelry purchases we make will be from Gold'n Treasures!
We wanted a wedding band that resulted in an emerald being positioned on each side of a round diamond solitaire. Todd listened to what we wanted and got to work. He included us every step of the way. He had several emerald gem stones delivered to his shop so he could pick out the best and most appropriate and then had us come in to review them to make sure we agreed, He told us all about the emerald market, different areas of the world they come from, pros and cons of stones from different regions etc,
Todd had a plastic molding of the band made for us so we could confirm it's what we wanted. He very thoughtfully figured out how to make the band of the wedding ring fit with the band of the engagement ring, which was a knife edge. This was a very subtle but important issue that we would not have known needed to be considered without Todd's involvement. He never assumed anything and included us at the right time in all decisions.
When the finished band and the emeralds were all ready to go, we scheduled a time to pick it up the finished product. When my wife arrived, she was immediately informed that when Andy was putting the emeralds into the settings on band one of the emeralds cracked. How did he know? He microscopically examined the emeralds very carefully after setting them and observed a tiny fracture that was invisible to the naked eye. Andy put the whole transaction on hold, apologized and asked us for our patience as Todd had some more emeralds sent to the store. Once again, Todd had us come in to review the emeralds he selected etc.
In the end, everything worked out great! My wife loves her ring and gets many compliments. Because of the great service and experience here, we bought my wedding ring here, also.
At not one point in the process did Todd ask for a deposit or a payment, even when we inquired about it. Instead, he'd offer us beer and wine! We didn't pay a dime until both rings were finished and ready to go. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised that the cost of my wife's wedding band was less than 1/2 of what we were quoted by another smaller store in White Bear Lake. The estimate from the other shop was really sketchy, too, as we never even met face to face with owner/designer - our specs were just relayed thru some high school kid working the counter.
Gold'n Treasures provided first rate customer service, the staff are knowledgeable and friendly and the atmosphere was fun and relaxed. The owner Todd sets the tone. He really loves his job and strives for his customers to be pleased. He operates very ethically, as evidenced by the issue with the cracked emeralds which we never would have seen. The price for customized design was truly a great value. We will be back!
Thanks Todd,...
Read moreThe rating "5 stars" by all reviewers should say it all. . . But it deserves so much more than the stars. Gold'n Treasures has been the jewelry store of choice by my family for more years that I can count. Todd and his staff helped my Uncle and Aunt with custom pieces and perfect gifts throughout the years. My Dad had diamonds extracted from a family heirloom and reset for a ring for my stepmom, and Gold'n Treasures did an outstanding job. Now for my experience:
I inherited antique family jewelry that needed to be sized, cleaned, and appraised. The ONLY place I trusted to handle and keep these gems for a month was Gold'n Treasures. The staff is outstanding, providing only the best customer service to anyone who walks through the door, no matter what your reason is for coming in (even just to get a ring cleaned). One of the rings that I had to have sized from a 7.5 to a 4.5 had inscription on the inside that I wanted to preserve. The goldsmith did a beautiful job with the sizing, and maintained the integrity of the inscription. The bracelets were sized perfectly, and sparkle like they are brand new. Todd absolutely loves what he does, and gets excited to share knowledge about the stones with you. After he appraised one of my rings, he took me to his back room, put it under the microscope and showed me some fascinating things about the ruby and diamonds. . . I could even see how he KNEW they were from the 1800's! He shares his passion with each customer that walks through the door, and it makes walking in there magical every time.
My husband got my engagement ring at a different store (he hadn't yet heard how much I LOVE Gold'n Treasures), but they happily clean my ring every time I stop in while in the neighborhood, and are the most personable staff I've ever encountered. . . Truly. Lastly, my wedding band. I wanted to use a platinum band that was my great grandmother's from 1917. Once again, it had to be sized and cleaned to see if it would look okay with my white gold engagement ring. I took it to GNT and told Todd my thoughts. He polished the ring, making it sparkle and shine, and removed all the wear and black spots from the past 97 years. He then put it in a box for me to use on my wedding day. When I took it back to get sized, once again I expressed I wanted to save the inscription on the inside. I just picked it up, and although I shouldn't be, I am SO IMPRESSED. Once again they met every expectation I had, and exceeded it a million times. It fits perfectly, looks amazing, and the inscription is untouched.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Todd and the staff at Gold'n Treasures. They are absolutely amazing individuals and as others have said, there is absolutely no pressure anytime you walk through their door. They are there to help and guide, but don't push you out of your comfort zone. All of them are knowledgeable and love what they do, and it shows. Choose them for ANY jewelry needs! Sizing, appraising, purchasing. . . They do it all, and do a magnificent...
Read moreThere is a reason Gold'n Treasures has 60+ reviews and every single one of them is a 5 star!!
So I found Gold'n Treasures through a friend. He promised that Todd wouldn't put a hard sell on me and that I would have a ton of information on moving forward with the engagement ring that I planned on buying. Todd knew this and spent about 2 hours talking with me and showing me all about diamonds and rings. The amount of information I know about these subjects now staggers me. He did this knowing that I planned on buying elsewhere!!
After meeting with Todd and armed with the knowledge that he gave me, I began searching for the diamond. I buy everything online. And I mean everything. I never expected to buy from a storefront but after about 2 weeks of searching online, I came to the conclusion that I was going to buy from a jewelry store. I began looking at them online and started with Gold'n Treasures. I noticed first that they had all 5 star reviews. I read every single one and then moved onto other jewelry stores assuming that they would all have high ratings. They didn't. I read their reviews and the difference was unmistakable.
Gold'n Treasures was going to be where I bought the diamond and the ring. I can't believe I ever even thought about making this sizable of a purchase from somebody online. I needed somebody I could trust. Everyone there was so nice, helpful and knowledgable! I figured out the cut of diamond I wanted after looking at dozens under a microscope and with Todd's help. We found the setting after looking at so many. And as he said, "Once you see the right one, you'll know", and I did. He helped me make the whole ring special and unique. We went with a lower setting on an oval diamond mounted in a nontraditional direction! It was as unique and beautiful as my future wife.
They even helped speed the process up because our anniversary was coming up. That was when I planned on asking her. I was able to get the ring in time to pick her up at the airport only because Andy worked so hard on the issue. The ring was great, the engagement was awesome and she still gets compliments on the ring every day, though it is almost a year to the day I gave it to her.
Todd put in so much work for me! After the engagement my fiance got to meet Todd and learn about diamonds and the ring that we had designed for her. We are still in contact with Todd and will see him soon after our wedding and look forward to that. When was the last time you purchased anything from anybody and looked forward to seeing them again?!?!
I began typing this and have never left a review for any business before. I had no idea it would be this long. In ten days we will be getting married in Cabo, Mexico almost a year to the day that I gave her this awesome ring!! I wish I could upload a picture but then all of your ladies would be jealous... ;)
Thanks again to everyone at Gold'n Treasures and...
