in my opinion, one of the coolest places in the Twin Cities. really great selection of all kinds of toys, board games, fidgets/sensory toys, books, even usually have one or two tarot decks and some crystal chips in stock. theres stuff tucked into every corner of the shop. theyve got stickers, dnd dice, science knick-knacks, art supplies, stuff for toddlers, a few more niche instruments like ukuleles and harmonicas, snacks, theres so much stuff.
also love how unapologetically for human rights they are. last time i went in there was a mother and her child who walked in while i was browsing and she pointed out some of the various pride merch and was like, 'look! this is a pride flag! do you remember what pride is?' to her kid and i actually had to step over to another area of the store bc i almost cried because the fact someone actually taught their child about that made me very emotional. i like how theres a good variety of pride stuff stocked and isnt done in a way that seems pandering.
it seems like theres always sometime new or different when you go in. its a great place to explore and usually pretty quiet. its a little crowded in some areas so if you use a mobility aid or have sensory issues watch out for that.
if anything i wish they sold monster high dolls but thats probably just my goofy autistic self voraciously hyperfixating on the current generation of monster high. the stores great. also, the first time i went, the staff ringing me up complimented my animal crossing nintendo switch carrier, so that automatically means...
Read moreI would not recommend shopping at this place. Their stuff is unnecessarily expensive. Their return policy is the worst in USA. Do NOT shop there. You lose your money as soon as you leave the door. Worst store in Minnesota. This is my response to Mischief Toy Store reply to their store review... When we returned 3 toys that were not in a box or wrapped when we bought them (octopus and a couple of other stuffed animals), we had the tags and the receipt. The lady did not even look at them! Besides she did not even entertain the fact that we wanted to exchange the stuffed animals!. We did not want cash back. I paid $132 and easily could have gone to Walmart and or Target and spent less than a quarter of that money for similar stuffed animals. I wanted to support a small store but I was not treated as a valuable customer. I am not sure how many customers they get that pay $132 for toys which include stuffed animals. I counted my loss. They counted a customer who could and was willing to continue shopping there! Never again. I am always giving objective and truthful reviews about businesses and especially small businesses. I never tell a lie about a business. I am for small stores success. But if and when a small store rip me off due to shady return policy or due to incompetence of an employee (owner) I let the community know about it. I have no joy giving a negative review of any store/business. However when a store deserves it, I do it every time but still keeping it respectful. It's all...
Read moreNot at all what I was expecting. Once I walked through the door I knew this place was special. It was a snowy day as my troop and I filed into the warmth of Mischief Toy Store. We were promptly greeted by the clerk and encouraged to take a look around. We were even offered a cookie and some tea. I was especially surprised to find a vast collection of Magic cards carefully organized into binders for my browsing pleasure. As I sifted through the pages it was only a few moments before my friends all had items in hand and were waiting at the register. A book, a mug, and a doodad of sorts. I myself ended up getting why was labeled as an "annoying noise maker". (A mini turbo you blow into like a kazoo) It's the best $1 I've ever spent, will definitely...
