When they say lifetime, they mean lifetime! I purchased one of their No2O jackets about 3 years ago and after about a year of wear (and I wore it frequently) the lining started to flake off. I kept wearing it and recently decided to replace it. I know that Patagonia has good earth friendly practices and I brought my old jacket with me to see if they could recycle it or do something so it wouldn't end up in a landfill. I showed my old jacket to the store employee and her response was: "We are happy to replace that for you today". I was gobsmacked as I did not expect that at all. Their products are excellent quality and it is worth it to me to spend a little extra knowing that they stand behind what they sell. I know where I will be purchasing my outdoor clothing...

Had a Patagonia trucker hat that I bought from a sporting goods store last year that the little button thing on top fell off of (not sure how) and had a small sharp metal piece u underneath, but anyway I went into this store with it and the sales associate took one look and said "Oh! Let's get you a new one." And so she just let me pick any hat in the store and did a quick switch and I was out the door. Their gear policy is awesome. Everything's guaranteed and the warrantee works. The gear that is returned damaged or defective gets repaired and sold on a used gear site by them too so you know it's not being wasted.
