Great food. Beef and Potatoes are great! Some dishes we had were overly salty tho. Ordered some food and ordered some to go. Was a great experience. Owner / operator didn't want our service dog in the facility. And asked "Next time no dog. This time okay" or something along the lines. We dined in on 01/22/2023 As per the ADA discriminating against people with service animals in establishments that sell / offer food is breaking the law. The animal that was with is a SERVICE DOG not an emotional support animal. This was made clear to the individual. "Establishments that sell or prepare food _must_ allow service animals in public areas even if state or local health codes prohibit animals on the premises." Establishment is *not* wheelchair friendly as there is a second unknown entrance "around back" for individuals with one. So... good luck I guess.

Edit 10/10/22: this place had been under new ownership for a few years now and it's not as good. Also seems not as Vietnamese, and more Thai. Service has taken a hit, and the food is more generic and uninspired. Original review: Best Vietnamese restaurant I've been to in the twin cities. I appreciate the little touches: the fried shallots, the two types of pork on the rice noodle salad, the pickled radish and carrot. The grilled meats are recognizable - and actually grilled - chunks of meat. It's not hugely different from other Vietnamese restaurants, but it's a little better and a little more thoughtful. Update: according to the owner, Andrew Zimmern agrees with me that this is the best Vietnamese in town.

Visited here for the first time for dinner this evening (Sunday, 8/21). The food itself was pretty good, with highlights being the complex flavors in the fried rice and, the subtle peanut sauce that came with the spring rolls, and the crispy, flavorful egg rolls.

That said, the service was strikingly slow. It took ten minutes to receive menus after being told to seat ourselves. Appetizers arrived quickly, but we had to wait around twenty minutes after finishing appetizers for the entrees. By the time came to request our check, we learned to give our overworked (but unfailingly polite) waiter the credit card to run when asking for the check.

But the two-star review really comes down to the fact that there was a medium-sized, black dog seated under the booth behind us for the entire time we were in there. It was clearly not a service dog (the owners took it outside at one point to greet friends they saw thru the window, and it was pulling like crazy, obviously neither trained as a service dog nor identified as one). In addition to being a clear health code violation, it shows a lack of consideration for other patrons on the part of both the owners and...

First time and last time visit this establishment. Table was not clean, order a bowl of pho and pork eggroll. Pho came broth was not hot, noodle was hard like it was not prepped. Eggroll was salty must of accidentally put too much salt in mix or something. Server didn’t as if I wanted any beverage during taking order. So I ask did they have a Diet Coke ? Server looked at me and said yes paused for a min and said did I want one ? I’m not one to ever leave bad reviews or complain. But this establishment could use more customer service training especially in the food industry. I’m not one to judge but having a person to host your guest at a restaurant that wears torn jeans that expose a lot of human skin is probably not the greatest image for professionalism. After meal when paying for ticket didn’t even thank the customer for visit. A simple smile and thank you goes a long way. Possible the staff may had a bad day but in the serving people business , one should not take it out on the quality of service for their customers. Certainly hope management provide more customer service training to staff so experience will be more positive at...

My wife and I loooove this place. Love the staff, every dish is good, cool casual atmosphere. I’m eating the tofu pad thai right now and I think it’s the best pad thai I’ve ever had. Saucy, flavorful, fresh veggies. YUM.

  • Editing my review from two years ago because I can't write a second review but I have more to say. I have travelled the US and eaten a lot of take out. Nothing measures up to this place. Right now I'm eating the thai basil entree with tofu. One of my favorites from them, especially in the summer. Delicious varieties of fresh, perfectly cooked vegetables. Fragrant, sweet, thai basil in a creamy, rich, perfectly spicy, coconut-based sauce. Huge portion. Delicious, homey comfort food with fine-tuned, thoughtful, intricate, beautiful Vietnamese flavors. Cooked with so much love and attention to detail. I could cry. Thank you IndoChin. You are a Saint Paul...
