Parking: Come get in line around 8:30am for admission parking. They will not let you in any earlier. If you try coming earlier you will get stuck in traffic with volunteers trying to come park
Bag: Clear bag is acceptable and doesn’t seem like they care what size it is. Also seen ppl coming inside with bags that isn’t clear (so it’s a risk if you wanna take it)
Seats: Blue Box section was perfect to see everything from fire performances to planes driving up the landing strip.Section 2108 was a perfect middle spot.Anything pass that is a bit off center (personal preference) Bring Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses! Beware ppl will standing up from time to time. Front row seats are worth it bc the planes can only come soo close for you to actually see them. After each performance there is at least a 30 min in between. Ppl do bring chairs if they don’t wanna buy box seats
Weather: Everything depends on weather so be prepared to wait hours before the weather decides to clear up and they start performing. Last performance cancel due to winds blowing strong. So be prepared for any cancellation. Wind tend to pick up in the evening so plans will change
Activities: they have a lot of plane related booths and kid activities for you to do while you wait for performance
Food: Expensive for little food but was good. Expect carnival food. You do have in and out privilege so if you bring food from home definitely eat in the car to save money. The parking lot is literally in front of the event so if you park close you don’t have to walk far. Tailgating isn’t allow
Traffic:. People in Salinas have the worst driver. Ppl will cut you off and...
Read moreHad a great time! Ordered tickets on the day of the event online. Was told on Friday that the box seats I was looking at would be easy to get to. Got to the event and found that I would have to wheel my wheelchair over sand. Was NOT going to happen. Was able to ask someone about switching box seat areas. The staff was very understanding and were very willing to help me out. They found two seats in a box on the tarmac. That was a great experience. The performers were great as well. Whoever selects performers did a great job! Got to see a super rare Vampire jet and a Shooting Star jet. And the WWII era bombers/fighters. So amazing! Will hopefully be going back in 2019. Helps out the local...
Read moreAmazing airshow, best in the state! I’ve been to many across the country and this is the best I’ve ever seen. Cannot wait for the Blue Angels this year, the Thunderbirds killed it last year. I highly recommend the President’s Club, absolutely top notch. My children loved the Kid’s STEM Zone. The wrestling was really cool too last year. I love that they bring in different types of acts in addition to the aerial performers, one year they even had Metal Militia. Perfect weekend event for a group, family, or couple. If you are looking for a party vibe and amazing food and drink, don’t forget Maverick’s Lounge on Friday night that kicks off Salinas Airshow weekend, it’s also a top...
