Guadalajara Grill — Restaurant in Salinas

Visited this spot recently and had a bit of a mixed experience. The birria tacos were visually appealing and packed with flavor—the meat was tender and well-seasoned, the tortillas had a great crisp, and the toppings added a fresh kick. The consomé and lemon wedges complemented everything nicely. 18$ for 3 birria tacos. Assuming because of what side of town this restaurant is?

If you want authenticity I suggest trying the food truck posted by 101 North, also a Guadalajara food truck.

However, the service left much to be desired. It felt disorganized and slow, with minimal engagement or attentiveness from the staff. A little more hospitality would have made a big difference.

Overall, the food holds up and is worth a try if you're patient, but the service could definitely use improvement. Solid flavors, but don't expect to be wowed by...

Had dinner to go here for the first time this past weekend and it won't be the last. The garlic shrimp was outstanding. 12 good sized shrimp with a garlic sauce that was as good as you can find anywhere. I'd buy it by the quart if they sold it. Lots of minced garlic, butter and olive oil that had a sweetness to it. If you've ever been to Giovanni's Shrimp Truck in Hawaii, this is as good or better. Rice was moist and perfectly cooked. Served with fries. We had one order with fries and one with refried beans, both very good. It came with a side salad of iceberg lettuce, tomato, avocado and onion. The garlic sauce spilled over into it and cooked the lettuce. Might want to put it in a separate container. Won't take off a star for that. It was a take out order 🙂. Try it. You'll like it. So today was my first visit to this restaurant. The waitress was friendly attentive and courteous. In my opinion, if you don't have a lot of time to wait around to receive your food don't come here. They took about 30 min to bring my food out. So I ordered a super burrito of drilled chicken, the burrito was mostly rice and beans and had a little bit of chicken in it. Now I have been to other Mexican food restaurants where they are generous with the meats with their burritos. The prices were kind of high here. I have had a well made super burrito for $6.50 to $7.50, here they were $9.99. Also had super nachos ($12.99)that were made with a lil bit of meat and the jalapenos didn't taste that good, I have had better. I don't have nothing against them.
