I wish I had dealt with the owner. I ordered some medals for my local Special Olympics team. I got a call yesterday at 3:56pm that my order was ready. I didn't know they closed earlier then regular business hours and they didn't inform me. So when I called at 4:03 today to let them know I was on my way, I got their message machine. My message was intercepted by an associate. I explained my situation and he passed me to the rudest manager I have encountered in a long time. He reminded me that they close at 4pm and aren't open on weekends. And repeated it as the response to my obvious panick. I'm not sure why he felt the need to tell me he lives in Watsonvile. Certainly wasn't to meet me in San Juan Bautista on his way home. He even used yesterday's call to to justify his lack of ability to customer service as if they shared such vital information with me when they called. Most people work 9-5. I did all my communications via phone call and placed my order via email. Tomorrow is my end of the season ceremony. Why did someone even answer the phone if they weren't going to...

I went in to get a small little project done for my daughter-in-law . I was impressed with the condition of the store, and the gentlemen were professional and friendly. He took the time to understand and listened to what I wanted, After getting my order completely written up, we had small chitchat and a little laughter. I left there feeling like we were friends. He told me it would be ready in two days and it was ready in one day. Talk about awesome service. They are bilingual which I appreciate we spoken both English and Spanish. I had an idea of what I wanted when I went in, but his idea was actually much better so I went with his professional idea/advice . Kurt and his wife were absolutely amazing. I was in a bind, as I was putting on a conference at the La Playa hotel and the award I was going to present on Sunday had the incorrect name on it (award was done by a company in Fresno), so I contacted Valley Trophies and they were willing to work after their normal business hours and fix my plaque.
