I gave this place a two star on the service instead of one star. Me and my friend waited 40 minutes for two coffees. There was one person working. We got there at 4:30 PM on a Saturday and we got a coffee’s at 5:15 PM. It looked as though there was an off-duty coworker that asked the one guy working by himself if he needed help. He said no she asked him three separate times from the time I was there, and all times he said no. While a group of us, or it doesn’t of us were waiting for a coffee’s. Strangely, he was complaining about how busy he was. At 5:00 a second person, strolled and started helping mounting the registers. Then the third person finally came in. Everybody was waiting patiently, but it was a really long time to just pop in and grab a quick coffee. On my way out. The guy at the cash register handed me a gift card and apologize for the wait. If it hadn’t been for that, I would’ve given this place a one star. On the other hand, the coffee was great. I ordered a white mocha and my friend ordered a cold brew. Oh, and my white mocha was supposed to be hot but they gave it to me iced. Well, I go back… Of course, I will give the business another try. It could’ve been a fluke, regardless of an employee being sick it could’ve been a number of things. All I know is the gentleman at the cash register saved my opinion of this...

The Beerded Bean...located in the heart of oldtown salinas, this new elegant and vibrant beer and coffe bar offers the best of both worlds..beer and coffe.

Once known as "Rollicks", now an elegant and modern looking shop offers a great selection of Hot and Cold beverages from Iced coffe to hot chocolate mochas. Pastries also available to accompany your drink. Specialty crafted beer will be available around September or near November.

In order to reach this place you can find parking on Main st in oldtown or behind. Plenty of parking around oldtown. There is plenty of seating. Small tables with bar stools and ambient lighting. Also provides free wi-fi.

Friendly and helpful staff that provided my order quickly. Took under 3 to 5 minutes to get 2 iced coffes for my partner and i. $$ cost was fair. Never felt crowded and the atmosphere was relaxed. During certain days you can catch live music or some poetry readings.

The noise from the coffe machines do tend to be a bit loud at times but not to over bearing. Restrooms available.

I was going to come in as I usually do to buy coffees for myself and family, but could not do so because a man with a puppy was inside. I have severe allergic reactions to all types of dogs and it can cause an asthma attack at moment's notice. After feeling my stomach drop and much disappointment I turned around and left. How is this not a health dept. Concern? I am disappointed that the staff isn't taking appropriate action to ensure safety for all customers. I honestly have been met with unkind remarks and unhelpful responses when I ask for help from staff, so I am hoping a review will get me more help. Many with allergies cannot share indoor spaces with animals and it's unfortunat that I didn't feel safe there.
