Small place true...friendly service, no dought... Jose's omelet is super bomb my favorite! Don't remember the ladies name not sure if she's the owner, one day I was having breakfast with my wife when a customer walks in and asked how much was the quesadilla the lady said it was $11.99 and asked if he would like to order one...the man responded no cuz he didn't have enough money and started walking out...the lady didn't let him walk away just like that she called him to come back and asked him how much money do you have?...he answered $10...to Wich she answered that there was no problem and just like she had asked other customers that had ordered the same quesadilla she asked him what type of meat would you like and still offered if he would like some salsa on the side and asked him if he didn't want anything to drink and insisted to grab something to drink ...that it was ok with the $10 dollars he had that he could grab something to drink as well .... To me is something people don't see everyday or in other restaurants...other restaurants would not even process your order if you're short a...

El Burrito King is a hidden gem of an authentic Mexican restaurant. Tucked away on Midtown Lane between South Main Street and Monterey Street (North of East Alisal Street) is a small restaurant with a huge selection of delicious food. There are breakfast burritos mixed with potatoes, tacos, enchiladas, chile rellenos, machaca and eggs, tortas, chile verde, quesadillas, mariscos (seafood), etc. My favorite is the carne asada taco with hand-made corn tortillas and the carne asada cooked to order. Generous portions of meat fill the corn tortillas and then topped with fresh cilantro, onions, and tomatoes are wonderfully delicious. The machaca (shredded beef) and eggs burrito with potatoes is another favorite.El Burrito King was recently updated with new tables and chairs. Service is quick and staff friendly. This hidden gem is definitely a must for those who love traditional Mexican food. This restaurant is in Salinas Ca, tucked away in between 2 buildings and a quick walk down the hallway. You will arrive at your destination once you smell the food and see the smiling faces. I ordered the Breakfast Green Chilie Chilaquiles. It comes with the chilaquiles,beans, 2 eggs any way you like, and 2 homemade corn tortillas. The flavors are amazing, beans are fresh, my eggs were perfect over meadium, and chilaquiles were crispy topped with green chilie salsa & queso fresco & crema. This is definitely a locals' favorite and a must tey for anyone driving through Salinas California. I left pictures of other dishes my family ordered.
