EDIT:
I decided to give The Eye Clinic of Saltillo another shot last week and I was not disappointed. Although they were fully booked due to Spring Break, they attempted to call me when they had a cancelation but I missed their call due to my sleeping schedule. I was able to get an exam elsewhere but brought my prescription to Saltillo for their huge selection of frames. I got some nice Varilux lenses with Crizal coatings in Oakley frames and I couldn't be happier. This go round, they promptly texted me when my glasses came in and they offered to adjust the frames for optimal fit but they fit great right out of the box. They have definitely won me back as a customer.
I have mixed feelings about this place. When I first went there, I didn't have an appointment but they squeezed me in anyway. They seem to have an excellent exam-sales workflow. The doctor was very professional and friendly. The lady I sat down with to choose my glasses was more of a "go pick what you want and come back" kinda gal and didn't bother explaining the extra lens fees associated with my glasses until I had told her to order my glasses. I bought both safety glasses for work and a new pair of Oakley glasses for everyday use. I was told my regular glasses would take about a week and the safety glasses two weeks. After 10 days, I hadn't received a call, so I called them and they said my glasses were ready. I went there and they only had my safety glasses. The lady asked me to have a seat to see how they fit then just handed them to me. She didn't see how they fit or offer to adjust them in any way. She then said they would call me when my regular glasses were ready. Almost two more weeks passed and I called them again and they said they had my glasses yet they had never called me. When I picked them up, the lady asked how they fit, but never looked at them closely to SEE how they fit me. At every other eye center, I've always had a professional fit and adjust my nose pieces and ear pieces for the optimal fit and that was lacking here.
Overall, my impression is that this place has some state of the art equipment, high-end frames, many people to assist you, but their customer service seems to end once they've swiped your...
Read moreMy wife and I both recently drove an hour from where we live to get our glasses. The doctor and staff, were very pleasant. Our trouble didn't begin until the young lady who showed us our frame choices and such stepped in. We had in our hand, our insurance policy and knew what was covered and what was not. She tried to upsell us on items and treatments on the glasses, that we did NOT need and even told us that our insurance DID NOT cover things that it did, as we clearly had the policy, in hand. After getting fitted for them, she informed us that it would take two weeks for them to come in. We asked this question, specifically because my wife would have to take another Friday off, in advance, for us to drive the hour back to get them. Just under the two week time frame, the young lady called my wife and informed her that "Everything is in." When we showed up on Friday, we were informed that my glasses, were not there. It would be three weeks till my wife could take off again, so I was not happy at all. They apologized and offered to ship my glasses to me as soon as they came in. This morning, March 12 at a little after 8, they called and informed me that the girl who took our payment for our glasses, did not charge me a 25 dollar materials fee and that they needed it, to ship my glasses out. I made the payment. At 330 that afternoon I called to ensure that my glasses were had been shipped. I was informed that "the office manager has the credit card we use for that is not here right now and the post office closes at 4 or 430 so they may or may not go out today."
So after receiving payment for a charge that they left off, telling me my glasses were in and trying to upsell my glasses well in the range of 300 dollars, my glasses did not ship, like they promised. In my opinion this clinic has way to many Chiefs and not enough Indians. To many people handling things, yet not knowing what the other one is doing. I drove the hour there because I thought the treatment and customer service would be better than a big box retail chain, but got treatment...
Read moreI really like the Doctor and he is very friendly. However, probably best just to take your prescription somewhere else. My glasses were supposed to have been ready in 7-10 business days. I was notified they were ready exactly three weeks from the day I saw the doctor. When I arrived to get my glasses, I took them out of the case and the frames were bent. No one had taken the time before I got there and inspected them to make sure there were no problems. I live 45 minutes from this location and I made the trip for nothing. Now they will have to be sent back and I will have to wait another 7-10 days. I can recommend the doctor, but I cannot recommend the group that works with the frames and lens. i have gone there for several years, but this may be my last time to get my glasses from...
