Borrego Outfitters may be the biggest surprise in Borrego Springs. Kind of hidden away in the back of "The Mall" at first glance it is just another souvenir/out door shop. Don't let first impressions fool you. They carry only quality brands of outdoor gear and clothing. Ex Officio, Columbia, Royal Robbins, Kuhl, just to name a few. With an excellent inventory that even REI might envy. Plus they have a nice collection of wines and other goodies you might need at your lodging or campsite. However, I stopped in and found that these guys have a great shoe selection, mostly geared towards hiking, but they did have a running option...and they had it in my size! I wandered through the store, and found a t-shirt for my wife. Traveling through Gift Stores it's hard to find something unique and Borrego Outfitters certainly has some unique clothing.
