February 2023||Met the manager upon pretty early arrival but room had just been prepped so no problem checking in and unloading our gear. This motel meets my ABC's of budget places. A=Agua, it was hot; B= the bed, it was firm and comfy, no lumps or bumps here except the two us; C=Clean and the place was spotless. The heat worked well, the WIFI was real fast and grounds immaculate. The pool is unheated, so we'll have go come back in the summer to use it I guess. But it was very clean, and the deck furniture modern. The motel also has a back patio I hereby dub Robin's Nest. This space is very comfy and a great place for an end of the day glass of wine or two, and within steps of the pool. Also on property are the covered sitting area/pergola by the fire pit and stone BBQ (bring your charcoal or mesquite) . What a gem. We try to utilize small privately owned places, and if you do, too, don't miss the BSM. Not fancy, but at the end of the day of hiking and climbing, a little perfect motel. And it is within easy walking/stumbling distance to Carlee's for a cocktail and dinner. Carlee's even had a two piece jazz ensemble for the weekend we were there. And these guys rocked out. Fun place, don't miss it. Back to the motel for a minute, almost forgot one of the best parts. How many rooms have you been in where you actually get two luggage racks? Not many I'm sure. Well, the first thing we both noticed when we entered the room was each got our own luggage rack. Wow, didn't have to put a suitcase on the floor, a credenza, the bed or a chair. Finally, the room rate is quite fair. The website is accurate. I don't give them a five because the hand held shower is just a little antiquated. Certainly adequate however. So I have to regretfully give them my 4.5 and not a 5. ||Read less||Tip: Room 8 closest to the pool...
Read moreWe just had the pleasure of staying at the most delightful motel - the Borrego Springs Motel! This motel is conveniently located about 1 block from Christmas Circle. The manager Robin was warm and welcoming and showed us to our spotless room which included a very comfortable queen size bed with festive linens. The room was well equipped with a Keurig coffee machine, tea, heating, air conditioning and Wi-Fi. There was also a seating area inside and outside of the room. We loved the tall shower head that had great water pressure! There is also a guest cabinet outside the rooms that has complementary sunscreen, body lotion, Advil, bandaids, shaving cream, toothpaste, a noise canceling sound machine and even hiking polls you can borrow which we used for a beautiful wildflower hike! The motel also has a covered shaded area with tables and chairs with a BBQ and a library with books for you to enjoy! We happened to be guests of the motel when the owner offered a special continental breakfast - yum! There is also a beautiful pool and a separate shaded area to lounge and a fire pit with comfy chairs to enjoy a fire or star gazing Borrego Springs is a designated dark sky area! The price is very reasonable - for the best rate book directly with the motel. There are only 8 rooms which makes the motel feel small and intimate and with Robin in charge you feel like you are part of a family! I highly recommend this motel and hope that you can enjoy this jewel in the desert as...
Read moreI’m so glad I stayed here!! You will be, too, if you’re looking for an immaculately clean room, comfortable bed, the best value for your money, and above all, sweet peace and quiet. Only 8 rooms here so book it quickly. I loved it from the minute I turned in, right off the Christmas Circle; walking distance to restaurants and shops.
This place has an old-fashioned vibe but all the comforts, including fridge with complimentary treats, microwave, Kuerig coffee, great shower power, functioning bathroom window-Yaay-ceiling fan, (many high-dollar hotels don’t even offer this!), lovely linens, and Wi-Fi. What it does NOT have? A television in the room. I applaud this and hope the Management will never change it. Who wants to hear your neighbor’s “noise of choice”, when you can be sitting on a lovely back patio peacefully gazing at, listening to, and absorbing the desert?
This motel is a darling gem in every respect (did I mention the solar panels and unique room keys?). Light, bright, friendly, perfect. The manager (Robin) has her finger squarely on the pulse of what makes a difference for a wonderful visit to Borrego. This will always be my...
