American Beauty Institute — Local services in San Diego

Yesterday I had the pleasure of experiencing a “pamper day” from the American Beauty Institute and I was very impressed. All of the services I received were top rate, manicure, facial wax, and facial with a massage were out of this world wonderful, performed by students of the Beauty Institute, however, I would never have guessed they were students. I feel I received better, more professional service from these dedicated, knowledgeable individuals than I ever have going to a “professional” shop and that is saying a lot since I am 66 years old . All in all, it was a relaxing, wonderful experience. My cuticles and nails look amazing, thank you, the facial waxing was painless, believe it or not , as for the facial, I never realized how relaxing it could be to have my nose massaged along with the rest of my face, of course! And all these services were performed under the watchful eyes of the owner, Sukiyaki, who was quick to step in with advice for the students should it be necessary. Which , I might add, was a rarity because under her excellent tutelage she has helped her students to blossom into the professionals they are today. Obviously, I can’t say enough good things about the relaxing, wonderful pampering I received from American Beauty Institute. Big shout out to all of you that pampered myself and fellow employees on Thursday. And if you are wondering if you should try it for yourself….please do, because you will not regret it!...

American Beauty Institute is an amazing cosmetology school. Tuition for cosmo, esthetician and/or manicurist is very affordable especially compared to similar institutions and you can even set a monthly payment plan. I really enjoyed the flexible schedule and was able to attend and complete my manicure course within 4 months. I learned so much and from the very first day everything was hands on. Instructors have so much experince. You're introduced to the latest trends in your program and able to grow your skills from there. They're able to really explain and answer questions thoroughly. They really take time to make sure there's a clear understanding about products, health, safety, procedures, salon business and so much more. Student life is great too! Class sizes aren't overcrowded. There's a lot of support of each other. You are able to practice on our peers and you build a network without even realizing it. I attended ABI 2/2021-5/2021 around 20 hours a week. I really enjoyed my experience there.I learned so much more than expected. I had never used a base or top coat until I was taught the importance and that's just the basics! I felt more than prepared to pass my state board exam. I am currently licensed and working in Southern California. The skills I learned at ABI gave me the confidence to get into the nail industry the day I graduated! Very special thank you to Ms. Vo...

I attended ABI and successfully passed the California State board for Manicurist.

I researched all the accredited schools available in San Diego. ABI was the only school I found that allowed for a flexible schedule. I have 3 children in school and needed the flexibility the school provides.

I completed the Manicurist course within 4 months. And four months after successfully passed the written & practical exams at the California State Board of Barbering & Cosmotology.

Currently, I own and operate a successful private salon. I specialize in Meticulous Manicurist Pedicures. My services reach NailFrens who can’t get to traditional salons. I offer services in salon or on-site.

If you knew me before going to ABI you would know that I wasn’t the best me. Life was to much for me at one point. I struggled with anxiety & depression after my moms suicide. It took a while to heal. ABI was at the beginning of my healing journey 💜.

Ms. Suki was a blessing to me. I’m positive she’s an Angel in human form. I am so blessed to have her teach me and mentor me. She’s a genius-wizard-jack of all trades. Her insight on how to run a successful business has been real world beneficial for me. Her experiences and expertise in all thing’s beauty are Oracle like.

I highly recommend this school for anyone interested in beauty school.
