The Surf & Turf is the best burrito in San Diego by far, such unique and exquisite flavors. Make sure to ask for some lime wedges to go with it on the side, tastes heavenly. This burrito will make you a clairvoyant who can foresee the future while youâre enjoying it, you will have an epiphany of the strongest kind and come out the other side changed for life. This burrito can single-handedly cure cancer, it can build generational wealth. It can cease all conflict in the middle east and solve the student loan crisis, and rightfully would be awarded the nobel peace prize. You will transcend above the quotidian wearing of the day to day rhythm of the vicissitudes of life and attain mĆksha, whereupon you shall forgive all who have wronged you in the past and peacefully detach from them. Truly the gift that keeps on giving. Itâs always fresh too the quality has been top notch every single time. Been going 10 years and never had a meal that was less than excellent. This person is a craftsman, once I ordered over the phone and showed up an hour late to pick it up by mistake and he offered to make a new one from scratch since it had gotten (slightly) cool, I politely declined but the man takes pride in his work and it shows. People are quite nice, interior decoration is goofy tbh but thatâs expected. A...
Read moreEdit: this place just reopened a few months ago after a year long renovation. Itâs worse now. I have been twice and there as been completely different staff both times. Every time I walk by thereâs new staff. Theyâre not holding onto employees very well. The carne asada burrito was mostly tortilla, maybe a few slices of carne asada, old pico, and guac that tasted like it came from Vons. The beans were $4 for the smallest cup and it came in a plastic Tupperware that had been microwaved. The chips were stale and the salsas have no flavor.
This place is horrible and I will never be back.
This place used to be halfway decent. Not anymore. They canât keep a consistent staff because the owner wonât pay his employees any better so they quit when they start getting good. They started getting cheap with the salsa and try to pawn off chunky as red or spicy. I had to argue and prove that I paid for carrots before the woman would give them to me. Also chips used to be free for dine in but not anymore, same goes for carrots. Iâve been coming here for almost 5 years and Itâs almost at rock bottom. This place needs to get their act together. The foodâs pretty good but the cashiers and service...
Read moreI have been coming her for 5 years. They use to have an awesome salsa bar. But no more. They use to give a plastic cup for water. But no more. I asked if this place was under new management, she said no. She blamed customers for "breaking" the water. She said you have to bring your own cup for water and fill it at the hand washing station or buy a bottle of water. She said they will never get cups for water again. Owner, if you are reading this, please spend the extra money in investing the basics. I understand that times are tough and you probably can't afford a salsa bar, that's fine, but being too cheap to offer cups for water is a little too much. Take a look at JT Thai next door. They have a big container of water and their water is the cold and actually very good. Thanks for reading.
Reply: I understand the issue about the salsa bar. I don't prefer to drink sugary drinks with Mexican food. Please ask J&T Thai how they manage to continue to provide water for their customers, they can give...
