Amazing store. Visited recently for the Surfside Showdown by Eminence Games, hosted by TC’s Rockets. They have a pizza shop next door that does good food for relatively inexpensive. The location is decent and the play space is the largest I’ve ever seen in a retail store. This may not be THE biggest, as clearly, I’ve not been everywhere. But it was comfortably able to run a 100+ man event in tandem with a smaller 16 person event simultaneously. Staff is plenty and kind. Their trade-in rates for Magic cards, If you’re wanting to get store credit that is planned to be used in other magic singles, is the best I’ve seen. 75% in Near Mint. I do not like how they reduce the payout based on condition, by adding an additional percentage off of the cards market value instead of establishing the initial trade in value and then further adjusting based on the condition after the first calculation. The staff incorrectly stated that doing so the way they do is better for the customer. 75% with an additional 20% reduction, calculated after finding 75%, is a better trade-in amount than a cumulative 55% of the same value. So if you’re trying to trade in cards that aren’t LP or better, you’re likely not going to get what you feel is fair. All this to say that I will absolutely utilize this space again if I’m ever in the area.

This is the only real adult toy store in the entire SD area. The only place you can find a serious amount of new and used toys ranging from Japanese robots to action figures. Gujoes, marvel, voltrons, etc. They are also an excellent comic book store AND they have a wide selection of magic, pokemon, lorcana, and similar collectible cards, again, both new and used. Finally, they also host magic tournaments and have a large play space. Pretty unique store, and pretty amazing to shop and just look around in. As far as Prices ...they are relatively competitive. Can't speak for comic books but the used toys are priced off of lowest sold eBay prices, and the used cards off of popular online pricing guides. They also buy a wide variety of toys, comics. And cards for resale. I've sold them toys and cards a number of times and been satisfied with the results.

Amazing selection, especially for Star wars, gi joe, ninja turtles, and motu. Some really good condition old Battlestar Galactica stuff in there. There's a little bit of everything, but some really shine. If you appreciate vintage action figures, this is like a museum where you can buy stuff. Newer merchandise is fair priced as well, something you don't always find. So sure, you might be able to get that black series star wars figure for cheaper somewhere, but you might need to hit up seven different stores, and the savings you made was wasted on gas. This place just HAS it already. I cannot suggest this place highly enough. The majority of photos on here do not do this place justice, and next time I go, I intend to take more photos.

TLDR: GREAT REVIEW CHANGED BECAUSE OF ACCUSING MY WIFE OF STEALING IN FRONT OF THE STORE. MANAGEMENT AND OWNER MADE IT WORSE AND CAUSED US ALL DISTRESS.

Update: I had previously written a glowing review that you can see below. Recently, my wife had an experience that took it all away. My wife was confronted in front of the store and accused of theft of cards and that there was a police report out for her. Admittedly, this horrible experience originated from something absurd, but how it was handled is why it is all negative. We have recently had to start selling valuable collectibles that also had sentimental value, and this happened on April 5th, 2023. They were my cards, and I had given her permission to do so. The cards were valuable, and she had received over $1000 dollars for them. Witnessed by a friend and her mother, the owner came out and yelled my wife's name via the receipt she signed. The owner aggressively confronted my wife, telling her that her husband (with a different name than me) had called and said she stole my cards. They prevented my wife's rude and friend from leaving. All of this coming from the description of the man on the phone saying a Mexican woman with a young child and high-end pokemon cards. My wife is Filipino- Chinese. My son is a tall 11 year old One member of management seemed sincere and tried to make it right. Following day, I went in to receive the making-it-right thing with my son so he could pick out something. Different member of management said sorry followed by dismissing the aggressive nature in confronting my wife with which the owner had done. Followed by inconsistent information between him and the previous managers' story. Someone is lying and someone is being insincere.

Previous review. 9 times out of 10, this place is great. Sometimes, some employees aren't wonderful, especially to women, but those ones are few and far in between. For every not perfect experience, I've got at least a dozen stories where they do everything they can to get everything right for you, and they are friendly, and they welcome all walks of life. They have every kind of toy, comic, and hobby. I had a friend who's just starting to get into a game, and they set her up at prices that only existed when I...

TLDR; employee took my two most expensive cards out of my sight, then claimed the whole binder i was selling was fake, yet still wanted to purchase it all for $100, when tcg value was over $1000. Went to store with a binder of cards that ive had in my collection for a couple years now. I have only ever opened official sealed packs and official sealed boxes from Best Buy shelves. Some were a bit older in year than others and some newer, but all sleeved immediately after pulling them. When bringing them in, the employee took a quick look, wanted to take out the two highest cards out of the binder (2023 Charizards). He quickly looked at them in the store lighting and said they had to take those two cards to upstairs due to the value of the two cards and total of the binder. He came back saying they were both fake and the reason was that there was no texture, despite still being able to see texture. I took a minute to try and find the photo or video that i always took when pulling high value cards, but couldnt in that time. When it came to the rest of the binder, they were still willing to buy the whole binder without looking but only for $100 in case they were all fakes. I left after that but am currently trying to confirm if any of the charizards were swapped with downgraded or fakes during the time they had them as after telling my friends, those i pulled those expensive cards with, and another card shop, they all became concerned about the shop trying to do a scam. Upon talking about it more, its odd that the employee would take the two most expensive cards out of my sight, claim my whole binder was fake, then would want to purchase any fake or possible fake cards to resell to customers. This has made me and those i spoke about it with lose credibility in the shop, as we feel they are either inexperienced in checking for authenticity and/or scam their buyers and sellers. EDIT: we were able to confirm with other shops that both Charizards and everything in the binder was still authentic. The one charizard that had less texture than usual was confirmed to be either a manufacturing defect or a european printed card during high demand...

Go to place for vintage toys, a vast array of comic books, new and popular pop-culture items such as POP figurines, action figures and game-play supplies and accessories for D&D and other games but where they shine the most is in their knowledge, inventory and expertise with “Magic the Gathering”. Their staff adeptly hosts and facilitates MTG events both big and small from tournaments to Friday Night Magic. They host pre-release parties that are a blast and always have plenty of stock when new releases come out. I have yet to find better prices for booster boxes and their prices for older set merchandise is always reasonable. Beyond the commercial aspects of their company however, their customer service is without equal. From the newest employee to the most veteran- everyone behind the counter of TC Rockets is versed in advice on tune-ups or from the start deck building, cards in their cases, and are always willing to assist you in finding anything you may want in their expansive in-house database via their computers. The only time you may find yourself not being given their undivided attention is if you are there during the beginning or the ending of a well-attended event in which case, they always excuse themselves with an explanation as to why they need to step away and either transfer you to another well- versed employee available or return promptly to finish out their interaction with you. A trip to TC Rockets has always been literally “fun” and that can only come from staff that is as enthusiastic about the place that employs them as they are about the games they themselves are long-standing players...
