Teppanyaki catering — Local services in San Dimas

I wanted to plan something special for my mom’s birthday and found Teppanyaki catering on Instagram. I was a little nervous booking an event and service from a company I never tried or was referred too. David put all my worries to ease. He was very communicative, patient with all my questions, and was quick to provide detail estimates and recaps of what we discussed. Their website was very helpful and gave me a thorough idea of what they were all about, the offerings they had and prices. Not all teppan hibachi companies had a website and not all as professional when I was calling for quotes trying to dial down who I wanted to hire. I sent David a photo of how I wanted the tables set and his team (Raul and Walter) executed flawlessly. The team arrived early to set up; professional and polite and were extremely attentive to the guests. I could not have asked for a better experience. Now on to the food…. DELICIOUS! Fried rice was cooked with flavor, the meats were not dry and full of flavor, and Walter was entertaining. Lastly, it was such a relief to have them set up, serve, and clean up. They even allowed us to pack up any remaining food. I highly recommend this company. David even reached out the next day to check in on how our event was which I thought was very thoughtful. I researched and spoke to a lot of vendors before confirming this one for a special birthday event we threw, and once I spoke to David, it was the absolute BEST experience and i knew we had to book them!

David was very easy to chat with and extremely communicative & transparent. He was accommodating and great to work with! I would love to work with him again very soon.

On the day of the the event, the catering team was awesome. It was all set up according to the set dinner time and the accompanying inclusions that came with the dinner service was PERFECT! Chairs, tables, tableware, glassware and chargers, as well as linens and napkins and napkin rings were provided! I provided meal place cards so it was easier for service. Being in the industry, I understand that this was the best deal we can ever ask for. It looked beautiful as well and the service/clean up was done very well!!

This place does not deserve one star. Do not believe any good review you hear about them. They were 3 hours late to a “surprise party”. l ordered gold chairs, white plates, gold chargers and gold napkins to match my decorations. They arrived with black folding chairs and black plates. l didn’t see chargers and they put an ugly gold sparkle runner on the table. Everything looked absolutely tacky!! Did not match my navy blue and gold centerpieces. The linen was wrinkle and dirty. They were wiping off the dirty black chairs. The grill was old and dirty and the food was inside some freezer sitting on the grass. To top it off, the server asked if we could hurry up and get started because he had another party.
