I'm visiting Oakland/San Francisco from out of town, and while here, my sister-in-law and I decided to visit the San Francisco zoo. We really enjoyed seeing Penguin Island, and would definitely recommend the entire zoo to anyone.You can sit and watch the penguins swim and play, both in the water and on their island. One of my favorite parts was watching the penguin keeper feed all the penguins. They do feedings at 10:30am and 3:30pm, and the penguins are all so cute. I hate to rate any zoo this low and debated if I should put disliked but it was so less then expected. I was warned their exhibits usually r empty but had no clue it was as bad as it was. A few things were cool but prob 80% of them were either empty or animal was elsewhere when I went by. I have been to alot of zoos and give this one the rating I did strictly on their merit and not what others offer. I would suggest going after the covid stuff is over that way you can go into the exhibits in doors that were closed...
