The friendly employees here remember me, whether they're a cashier or a pharmacist. Because this Walgreens has one of the few 24-hour pharmacies around, a lot of people fill and pick up their prescriptions here at all hours, so it makes sense that it is usually always busy. Do expect to wait, whether you're going through the drive through or waiting in line inside. I work evenings and I've never had a hard time picking up prescriptions around 9 pm or later. Every pharmacy employee works very hard to help. I've never had anyone be rude or unhelpful to me. On the contrary, every employee in the store has been very helpful to me, polite and professional. For the people leaving bad reviews because of long wait times at the pharmacy, come on, we're in a pandemic. Staffing everywhere is down. People other than you need their medications, too, and the pharmacy has to accept every prescription that comes in and try to fill it within a certain amount of time, no matter what time the prescription comes in. The employees are trying to get to you in a timely manner, but if everyone pushes for the fastest possible pickup time, someone is going to have to pick up their prescription a little later. It isn't the end of the world. Keep in mind pharmacy employees don't solely fill prescriptions. They also communicate with doctors and insurance companies about prescriptions, they answer and direct phone calls, send and receive faxed prescriptions, fill prescriptions over the phone, complete customer's orders in-store, send notifications to customers, and answer customer questions in-store. For the reviewer upset about pharmacy employees stating the name of their prescription out loud, it's a practice to make sure someone doesn't receive the wrong medication. Not every random person who overhears a prescription name knows prescription names by heart and what their purpose is, so don't worry about being judged. Employees don't scream out prescription names either, they speak them at normal, inside-voice levels so someone standing directly in front of them can hear it. Not every person who picks up a prescription checks the name of it before leaving the store, and if the pharmacy employee gives you a medication and you leave with it, you can't return it, though you can get your money back if you got something in error. But overall, that's a big hassle that can be avoided by an employee simply stating the name of the prescription being picked up out loud, which is what the pharmacy employees already do. That's normal at every pharmacy I've ever been to, including a mail-order pharmacy, not just the Walgreens pharmacy. For the people complaining about not being notified when their prescription is ready, you can literally sign up for notifications with a free Walgreens account. I'm inundated by multiple messages when my prescriptions are ready. I get a phone call, a text and an email from Walgreens, and that's exactly what I want. I've been at a nearby urgent care, the doctor there faxed the prescription to Walgreens, and I've gotten a "Your prescription is ready" text before I even had the chance to leave the urgent care. If it isn't ready, or there's an issue, you get a notification about that, too, whether it's a text or an automated phone call. Most issues are resolved by the pharmacy employees within a day, although sometimes there's a larger issue, like the doctor's office is closed or the doctor is difficult to get ahold of, etc. During the last three years, I've only had one long wait for a medication that's difficult to get ahold of, and that was mostly due to communication issues between a pharmacist and a nurse who was unsure and had trouble writing out the correct medication quantity, formulation and dosage. The second time I got that medication filled, there wasn't any issue getting it or filling it. If you're impatient or expect to get your medication instantaneously, I suggest you adjust your expectations. Ask to pick up your medication the following day, be patient, and get a good...
Read moreHorrible, horrible, horrible Walgreens pharmacy! I cannot even begin to explain, from waiting 20-40 mins every time you are in line for your prescription(s) to being straight up lied to, this pharmacy is abhorrent! I was told repeatedly, that my insurance would not cover my prescriptions on certain days but then magically when I’d call back and wait an additional 20 mins or brave the long lines in the store or in the drive-thru on hold to check if it were ready because they never notify you when your prescription(s) are ready (mind you, my prescriptions are for medications I have been taking for over 8 years now, and have had the same insurance throughout that entire time).
They have lied about “pick-up” dates vs. the actual prescription refilled dates so you’re left looking like you’re calling your medicine in anywhere from 3-7 days earlier than when you are allowed to get your medicine. And this exact thing has happened to me repeatedly, I mean I have never been made to feel like an addict before in my life, and these “pharmacists” have gone to an extent with their “questioning” (more like an interrogation) of why I’m on the medicine I’m on and calling my doctors office repeatedly to ensure I’m not illegally trying to get medicines that I need in order to deal with my anxiety and depression. But APPARENTLY we are all drug addicts looking for a fix because that’s exactly how these horrible pharmacists have made me feel repeatedly. They have called out the medicine I use, while in stores and through the drive-thru when there are other people around!! I understand you need to get my information to refill my prescriptions, that’s totally fine, but don’t essentially tell me how to take medication I’ve used throughout my adult life while going on about how it’s not something I shouldn’t be taking in the first place while there are people who can hear what you’re telling me with crystal clarity. I’m rather young (26) and have worked many customer service based jobs and I have never, ever, EVER left a negative review for any business (even when I’ve had less than acceptable services because I understand that it’s hard working jobs that are custom based) but please remember this, to the people working behind the pharmacy desk at this Walgreens, you are just that, pharmacists. You are not my doctor, you are not the one who has written my prescription(s). You have no right to lie to me (telling me my insurance won’t cover costs when they will) or withhold prescriptions from me what my doctor has been prescribing me for years. Retrain or fire these people. I know that when people say “I’m never going back” the usual response is “good, we don’t need your service!” but for real, I’m never going back to this...
Read moreDONT WASTE YOUR LITERAL TIME GETTING YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS HERE. I came to drop off two prescriptions (one of which was a controlled medication ). I brought in a coupon for the controlled medication since ,even with insurance, it’s more than I’d like to pay for a medication. I’ve used a similar coupon for this medication before at a different Walgreen location no problem. The young lady at the pharmacy counter told me it would be a 45 minute wait. I’m typically a patient person so I said that was fine and I would wait in store.
This is where it gets sloppy. After strolling through the Walgreens for about 45 minutes, you’d figure you’d hear your name on the overhead stating your prescription is ready OR to come back to the pharmacy counter in case there was an issue right ? Nope, not at this Walgreens. I got tired of walking around the store, I took a seat in front of the pharmacy. I continued to wait there for 20 minutes without any update. I decided to go in line and ask how much longer. When I get to the same lady who took in my scripts, she then tells me “oh there was an issue with the antidepressant you dropped off since you have a lower dose in your account etc etc. If you delete the old medication, we can fill this”. I’m annoyed they didn’t page me. She says it will be ready in 5. I’m like cool not a problem.
But of course there’s another problem after the 5 minute wait. As she’s ringing me up, I notice the coupon wasn’t applied to the stimulant. I asked her why it wasn’t applied. She says “it should have!” But obviously I’m looking at the grand total and that’s not right. She takes it to another pharmacy associate to look into it. She finally returns and says they will have to look into it but it would be a while longer. At this point, I want to get out of there so I told her just ring me out for the antidepressant and I’ll call tonight regarding the stimulant.
Onto the next problem! I decided to call the following morning. I was on hold for 30 minutes so I decide to drive over instead since this is ridiculous. I tell a male pharmacy technician what happened. He finds my prescription and tells me that it got rejected and they don’t know why and to just get another coupon. I’m annoyed again they did not give me a courtesy call or anything ! I give up and just pay the amount but I will never again get my prescription filled here !
Oh and the pharmacist talks smack in the back about patients he gets off the phone with....
