if you are looking to just park your kid somewhere to have some fun with music - this is your place. If you care about music education - this is not it!
We came in very excited for a trial lesson with 2nd grader who has a couple of years piano education already in NYC. We were told the teacher will leave feedback for us and we can book after we better understand the plan. We take piano and music educations seriously - unfortunately this establishment seems more interested in booking spots rather than educating kids for music. We got one line feedback from Ms Erin “looking forward to working with you” - with nothing about the lesson, our daughter, or anything else. I wrote Ms Erin back (and let the front desk know in case she misses it) with some questions. Not only was I not respected with a reply, but I got an email saying Ms Erin doesn’t have anymore spots (she just didn’t want to work with us). While we were offered other teachers and to haggle our daughter around - the bridge was already burnt. Very...
Read moreAs a homeschool mom, I really appreciate outside enrichment classes. Both our kids are homeschooled and they see Mr. Frankie for the drums. I really look into a lot of teachers and I really spend a lot of time understanding what is happening in the classrooms. I am so impressed with how he leads my kids. He is so patient and I also like that he is willing to incorporate all their interest into the lesson he’s also willing to incorporate all sorts of music. I want them to learn, but we do music because we want our kids to enjoy music. We want them to seek it as a way to cope throughout their day. I’ve shared this view with him and he truly embraces our vision for our kids. If you were looking for a music instructor, I highly recommend Mr. Frankie. He teaches the piano as well and maybe other instruments? The Scottsdale School Of Music is lucky...
Read moreOur daughter has been taking voice lessons with Ms. Erin Tompkins for a bit over a month. The progress in just a short time is remarkable, with her range expanding and her knowledge of music theory progressing quickly. Ms. Erin is kind, fun, positive, and shares opportunities for additional vocal activities outside of voice lessons, too. She also adds in piano basics to strengthen theory and sight-reading. Our daughter is excited to go each week, and practices without reminding-to me, that's the sign of a great teacher who motivates her students to come prepared and keep growing! If you are thinking about voice or piano for your child, Ms. Erin is a...
