A Culinary Surprise: Flavorful Shanked Ribs and Fresh Tossed Salad at FCI Seagoville 5/5 - During my recent visit to FCI Seagoville, I had the pleasure of sampling the culinary offerings, including the mouthwatering shanked ribs and the refreshing tossed salad. The dining experience at FCI Seagoville left a positive impression, showcasing flavorful dishes that went beyond expectations within the confines of a correctional facility.
FCI Seagoville's kitchen staff demonstrated a commitment to delivering flavorful dishes despite the limitations of a correctional environment. The tossed salad was a testament to their dedication, showcasing attention to detail and culinary finesse. The generous portion size ensured that inmates could savor the delectable flavors without feeling deprived.
The meal variety at FCI Seagoville was impressive. The menu cycled through a diverse selection of dishes, incorporating different cuisines and flavors. From classic American favorites to international dishes, there was something for everyone. This variety helps prevent monotony and provides inmates with a taste of different culinary experiences, contributing to a more enjoyable dining experience.
The quality of the food was generally good, considering the constraints of a correctional facility. While it may not reach the standards of gourmet dining, the meals were well-prepared, flavorful, and served at an appropriate temperature. The kitchen staff displayed skill and care in the execution of each dish, and it was evident that they took pride in their work, as I didn't find that many hairs or cockroaches inside of my tuna.
However, it is worth noting that the dining atmosphere at FCI Seagoville is different from a typical restaurant. Due to security considerations, the meal service is conducted in a controlled environment, which may lack the ambiance and freedom associated with dining out. Nonetheless, the staff's professionalism and efficiency in managing the dining area contribute to a smooth and...
Read moreThe federal prison in Seagoville is like any other federal prison where I served my 26 years in custody. That means, the prison environment isn't nearly as important as the individual's frame of mind. While serving multiple decades in prisons of every security level, I created a life of meaning and relevance irrespective of prison conditions. I earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree. I published numerous books on the prison experience. I launched websites to teach strategies for others to succeed in prison. Succeeding in prison is no different from succeeding in society. It requires an individual to begin with a vision of the best possible outcome. Then it requires a highly personalized plan. The individual must then master discipline and energy to execute that plan as the days turn into weeks, the weeks turn into months, and the months turn into years. For some, the months will turn into decades. To the extent that an individual adheres to the programs I teach, that individual will emerge with dignity intact and a clear path...
