Right Coast Surf Shop — Local services in Seaside Park

Terrible customer service. I paid for a sweatshirt and never received it. I would give a zero star if possible.

On 12/22/19 I ordered a sweatshirt for Christmas. After completing my order an automated response was generated advising me that I would get an email when the I item was ready to ship with a tracking number. I had the item sent to my office to make sure it was left with a person not on my porch. I never received a tracking code.

On 1/7/20 I had not received the shirt so I emailed the shop and got the following reply on 1/8/20:

"That shipped on the 23rd of Dec. The tracking said it arrived on the 30th. Once it landed I got rid of the postal receipt which had the tracking. im heading over the bridge in the a.m. to the main postal office and see if they can help locate it by date. I'll let you know".

I never received the shirt.

After the above message none off my emails were responded too. I tried calling but never got a person to answer. I asked about a tracking number or a refund or having another shirt sent and received no answer.

Really unimpressed...

I've been bodyboarding Seaside Park for years - year round, any size. I finally stopped in last month...I wish I could refund all the years I was shopping at Brave around the corner from my house. (I know, SHAME ON ME!!)

Mike at Right Coast is a legend. Super chill dude, he knows his stuff. He has an Instagram page (@rightcoastsurfshop) that posts surf reports year-round, which have always been more reliable than most of the, ahem, "HD" cams around here. The prices are great too; that being said, supporting a local business is priceless. I would rather spend my money here than bolster some CEO's wallet for another tasteless Porsche he doesn't need.

I also felt really comfortable in the shop. I am fighting PTSD, and it is rather difficult for me to go to places alone. Right Coast is not one of those places. Super friendly staff, chill local vibe, and super organized store.

If I could give more stars I would. What an amazing shop with great options to choose from and great prices. You can find anything you can possibly need while at the beach ranging from sunlotion, sunglasses, hats, sandals, necklaces, bracelets, lots of clothing, bathing suits, surfboards. Pretty nice store and the owner, Mike, is very helpful. All the good reviews are accurate and Mike really knows how to take care...
