Two groups of us stayed at the Windjammer. One group was our married friend and their small daughter they reserved a one bedroom suite. My daughter and I reserved a double room. I save all year for a beach vacation. We spent almost $250 a night for what was one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed at. One of the worst things about the room was the beds. They were ancient mattresses that felt like I was sleeping on lumpy concrete. I have traveled all over the world and stayed in everything from youth hostels to high-end resorts, and I have never experienced such a shockingly, uncomfortable bed. I am a healthy woman and I could barely move the next day. My back hurts so much. the room itself was dirty and dark. There was a strange almost squeaky noise as we walked on the rug, our shoes almost sticking to it. I can only guess that this is from years and years of using chemicals on the rug rather than investing in new flooring. The worst part of the room as far as filth went with the bathroom. The first thing we discovered was urine and toilet paper in the toilet. For our entire stay there, we could not get rid of the stench inside of the bathroom. The smell resembled, if you can imagine such a thing, what the inside of a dirty sneaker would smell like. We wore flip-flops in the disgusting bathtub. The entire set up looked like it had been designed in 1965 and nobody had changed a thing since. The sheets were thin and stained on my daughters bed. It was as dark as a cave and appalling uncomfortable.|Shame on these people for charging 250 a night for the most awful dump i’ve come across on the Jersey Shore (with the possible exception of the amethyst motel that had rented out a large portion of their rooms to homeless people who were urinating in the pool when we arrived there. Needless to say we left, but were given no refund)|I save money all year long so that my daughter and I can have little vacation from working hard all year, only to get a dirty, ugly uncomfortable room that had all the charm of a...
Read moreIf I could put 0 stars I would have. I had a block of rooms there for my wedding in seaside park and from the beginning the service was horrible. I truly wish I would have never given them my business. It was such a hassle to even get the block of rooms not to mention it was in the off season so I have no idea why they gave us such a hard time. The owners were rude and not accommodating at all. They also forced some of my guests to get a room for 2 nights because they “thought” it was Columbus Day weekend when it wasn’t and didn’t offer those guests a refund even though it was there own mistake. The worst part was that they turned the elevators off at midnight even though there was a handicap guest staying there. Thank god nothing happened in the middle of the night because they would have been stuck until an employee showed up the next day. I will be reporting them for that as well. My husbands family has been going there for years but will not ever step foot in there again. I will also let all of my friends who go there regularly to not give them any business. I honestly do not know how they are even still open with how rude and disrespectful they are.
To your response- you are just trying to coverup your mistakes. No one ever informed us that there was a 2 night minimum because if that was the case we would have never decided to use your hotel. We also never told anyone working there that most of our guests were staying for 2 nights. You did also make one of my guest get another night because you don’t allow early check in which I understand if you were as “ accommodating” as you claim to be you would have made an exception which you did not even though your hotel would have been empty that weekend if it wasn’t for my guests. i live in seaside park and know that your hotel is pretty much empty the entire winter. We were nice enough to give you our business because we do try to support local businesses but never again will I support...
Read moreThe two of us [adults] stayed in an efficiency suite for three nights. The staff was friendly and housekeeping was quick and thorough. We were given beach passes at check-in, and our room was ready on time. Our room was on the top floor.
Everything in the room was clean and the room itself smelled nice and clean. The shower stayed hot, the fridge kept our food cold and the air conditioning worked well. The air conditioners were a little noisy but it didn't bother me. The bed was a little creaky but it was comfortable and the blankets were warm. Lots of closet and drawer space in the bedroom. I wish there were more power outlets in the bedroom, though. But not a big problem. I liked that there were extra pillows and a blanket in the little closet, too. The bathroom is large enough for two people. The towels were a bit small but more than enough to get dry after a shower. The TV had some good channels on it when we did use it. We didn't really use the kitchen except for the fridge and the bottle opener. There were pots, pans, utensils, dish soap and other kitchen utilities available in the cabinets.
The pool was a nice temperature and wasn't overly saturated with chlorine. Plenty of space to sit poolside. Even with kids around, it didn't feel crowded. We had lunch the one day at the lounge, and the food was good for the price. There was always a place to park, never over crowded, and I felt my car was safe where we parked. It was a nice quick walk to the beach, too, not too far in the hot sun. There are also stores nearby that are within walking distance. It's a bit of a trek to the boardwalk though.
I liked my stay at this hotel, and when we come back to the shore, I'm positive that I will book...
