After not having a pedicure for 5 months after the birth of my son, I decided to leave my 15 week old with my husband and treat myself to a pedicure. For all you new moms, you can imagine it's a big deal to get an hour for yourself. I walked in and sat down expecting a nice relaxing experience. I sat down and was soon asked would you like me to scrub your calluses. Without hesitation I responded, yes of course thinking nothing of it. Before I knew it, 15 min. Had passed and my pedicure was done. Really? That's it? The other 2 ladies who had arrived before me were still in their chairs enjoying a nice massage and not even close to finishing their pedicures. I thought to myself well that was quick. For a week of planning and looking forward to this long anticipated reprieve, you can imagine my disappointment. I thought that stinks, but it is what it is. I proceeded to the cashier's desk and asked how much? One lady said $25, then the main lady that did my pedicure said no, $30. I responded when did the price go up? I've been here before and it did not cost that much? The price as shown on the sign and picture here on yelp says $23. Her response you owe an extra $5 since you got the special callous treatment. Since when does a 1minute scrub of the bottom of my foot cost $5? I responded in disbelief and said that ridiculous. Plus my pedicure was 1/2 the time of the other 2 ladies that arrived before me. I responded you really shouldn't take advantage of people. Shame on you. This is how you treat people? The other two workers were so embarrassed knowing it was wrong and refused to make eye contact with me. I said fine, I'll pay the $30 just to get me out of there back to more important things. ie my family. The one embarrassed lady ended up charging me $25 pointing at the credit card receipt for me to sign but would not say a word afraid of her boss would find out. A nice gesture a little too late. Surely a sign of guilt on overcharging me? Lets just say no tip was given. I never write reviews, but when someone goes out of their way to swindle someone, I can't remain silent. I strongly urge fellow west seattle ladies to avoid this salon. Bad, deceitful behavior should not...
Read moreGot pedicures with my son. The lady that did our nails didn't let they layers of paint dry between coats and his toes were still goopy 4 hours later. 3 months later I went back for a manicure. The acrylics were chunky, uneven, and crooked. Same lady and she didn't paint all the way to the cuticle. Went back 2 days later to have them fixed by the manager. Went back for a third time yesterday, got the same lady from the first 2 visits, and crooked, chunky nails again. Paint doesn't go all the way to the cuticle, tips weren't glued all the way to my nail, and at one point I had to file my own nails. Then, she asked me how to fix the nails that were crooked and lumpy. After explaining what I wanted her to change, she told me to come back tomorrow and she would fix it. No. I shouldn't have to come back for you to fix them the next day. You should be doing them right the first time.
Besides that, they take walk-ins when they have appointments and make people with appointments wait. I waited 45 minutes yesterday after my 2pm appointment. When I was there 3 weeks ago they scheduled an appointment for 2 pedicures and made the couple wait 50 minutes for their appointment, too. If you don't have time just say that. I won't be going back. Super disappointed in the work and the wait. This...
Read moreI read an incredibly nasty review over here which isn't a surprise as I am someone who also works in an industry where grumpy people take time out of their day to write awful reviews and drive others away. Let me just say this.. There is no better place in the West Seattle area that will ALWAYS do what you would like. I even have asked one time for my just made shellac to be taken off and without hesitation my nail lady did so. The owner, Lee is incredible. Nail art, pedicures.. you name it, she's good at it. I strongly recommend this place. You can imagine my disappointment when I read such an awful review knowing how friendly and accommodating the ladies are. Have been going here for years and will not stop now. Sometime if my nails chip a little too soon, I stop by and get a touch up for free. Of course I always try to leave something because I feel bad. I have tried places around West Seattle, in which I have had people make my feet bleed, hands and so on. This is your place. I...
