While dining here I was overall unsatisfied. Some people in these reviews loved the food, but my experience was not so great. Their Thai Iced tea was the first thing we ordered and it was delicious (but it is not hard to make so I can't imagine someone messing it up). Next we were shocked when our server comes to us to tell us that the chef is not even in the kitchen! We waited about 10 minutes for him to come but in that time she kept trying to get us to order appetizers that she knew how to make (which were only about two items). Once the chef was finally back in the kitchen we decided to order the crying tiger steak, crispy trout salad, and their golden prawn appetizer. We got our prawns first and some tasted odd. Next we received our crying tiger dish which was downright awful. If you are a lover of nearly cold steak salads then be my guest and order this. The item was a little too spicy and did not go well with the sauce. Finally we received the only decent menu item: our crispy trout salad. The fish was warm and went well with the cool, crisp lettuce. They added fish sauce which gave it that umami taste. But after eating here my dining buddy and I felt full but gross. Like the same way a competitive hot dog eater might feel after eating 30 or so hot dogs. Maybe their other dishes were better and we did not get a chance to try them, but NEVER order the golden shrimp and crying tiger unless you enjoy feeling cranky afterwards. We did not even stick around to try their dessert, and that's saying something. If you want to try a great Thai restaurant I highly recommend going to Bang Bar which is right down the street. Their yellow curry, papaya salad, and basically all of their other dishes...

We had the crab Rangoon which was really good - no fake crab here.
Then on to the Tom Kah Gai. I LOVE this soup and always order it and this is the best I’ve ever had. I can hardly wait to eat my leftovers tomorrow.
Pineapple fried rice. Yes and yes. An interesting homey spice — curry? Slightly sweet and nutty very good.
Crying Tiger. Different than others I have had. Delicious marinade. Smokey finish. Cooked to perfect medium rare as ordered. Dipping sauce was the same as others I have had - very hot!! Was not served with sticky rice, which we were used to getting other places and we missed it. Next time we will remember to order it on the side.
We went late on Friday night and they said they had been really busy (yay!). Several things were 86’d by the time we got there but we will be back so no biggie.
We also ordered a bunch of stuff to go: pad Thai, panang curry and another rice dish I can’t remember the name of. We haven’t tried those yet but I’m looking forward to trying everything.
Hope this restaurant stays...
Read moreWow! What a meal! This Thai place is excellent. Tried a few staples and one new dish for us. First, the staples: pineapple fried rice was very good. It had a background flavor we couldn't quite figure out that put it over the top. Excited about the leftovers. Next we ordered the Phad Thai. Nothing unusual except it was very moist and the flavors were spot on. Some Phad Thai recipes can be glumpy after it sits for a few minutes. You know the ones I'm speaking of; when picked up a giant mount of clumpy noodles lifts off the platter. Not this one. Noodles, extras and sauce were loose and tender by dinner's end. Really good. Finally, the new dish....Wild Salmon Curry served on lettuce (weird, right?). The three of us agreed it was the BEST DISH WE'VE ever HAD at ANY THAI PLACE! The curry sauce compliments the salmon incredibly well and that sauce on the slightly crunchy lettuce imitates a delicious dressing over it. We love this place and the awesome staff puts it in a class by itself. Srivilai will now be our Thai place. Enough Said. Just give them a try! You'll be...
