Redwall Distillery — Local services in Sedona

I hate leaving negative reviews, but I feel I must.

Our visit in mid-July started out well. We received a greeting, grabbed our ice water, and sat outside. Clouds were over our heads from a rain storm earlier, but it was still too warm. We went inside, where it was only slightly cooler but better than outside.

Our server was pleasant and took our order for two flights. The flights didn’t have a price attached to them. Something I should have asked about.

Once inside, my legs started itching intensely. I noticed little critters - mosquitos, gnats, something - flying around my ankles, and they wouldn’t stop chewing on me. I went out to our car and applied some lotion to my legs, which helped, but the bugs just moved higher.

After our flights were delivered, the service stopped. The presentation was pleasing, and the snacks were good, but we had to flag down our server to tell us about the whiskeys and vodka. She said she didn’t have that information but would ask someone else. Another guy came over, sat down, and gave us a brief summary of what we were drinking, but it seemed we were a bother to him.

The whiskeys were sharp and bitey—which I don’t mind—but without any smooth finish. My wife said it was like fire after she swallowed. My uneducated guess is that the spirits were very young and needed more aging—a lot more aging and mellowing. For reference, my go-to bourbons are Knob Creek, Widow Jane, and Wilcot Rickhouse Reserve.

If you've done wine tastings in Cottonwood, then you know that they usually tell you about their wines, the wineries make you feel welcome. This was the opposite experience.

The final shock was the bill: $72.50 for my flight of 4 and her flight of 3 one-ounce tasters. Let that sink into your wallet.

Lackluster service, unbalanced bitey whiskey, and biting bugs made for a disappointing and expensive experience. We will steer clear...

Look... I don't review places very often but I felt the need to after the amazing experience we had. We came here because it was the only Distillery in Sedona and didn't expect too much. We were absolutely blown away by the Gin and Burbon. Their Gin is floral and aromatic. The Gin is made and bottled here and made into one of the best gins I've ever had - right here on site. Also, the Burbon... how did they make such a naturally smooth and sweet burbon in the desert? I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who likes good liquor. Whoever is distilling this stuff is a real pro.

Lastly, whoever posted the 1 star review about 2 hours ago... you don't have any idea what you're talking about. And, mocktails?? Come on... I mean it's great they offer them but you don't come to a Distillery for a mocktail.

Anyone who is looking for the best Distillery in Sedona AZ! This is the number ☝️place to stop and enjoy the view and services. The fire pit to the sound of laughs and enjoyment in people… is what you want to hear. The stars and the sky in the night is so Romantic And so relaxing. I love every drinks and snacks.. we loved it after a helicopter 🚁 ride. I hope this helps anyone who is looking for a history or out of curiosity. This should be your first stop. You won’t regret it. You will want to come back each night just to drink. 🍹and if drinking isn’t for you , you can still enjoy the view. I am sure they will Accommodate to your taste.
