In May of 2023 I went to Jill Jacobo. I was wanting to go blonde. My hair at the time was a deep cherry cola red, I was expecting to take multiple sessions to get to the blonde I wanted. Jill being a professional, I trusted her when she said that she could get my hair pretty light with just one session. I was a little hesitant but went through with it, she’s a hair stylist after all. 4 hours later my hair is significantly lighter, but at the cost of the health of my hair. It was absolutely ruined, very over-processed, and gummy. When I asked why it felt gummy Jill told me that it’s the left over bleach that she couldn’t get out of my hair and that when I get home to give it a really good shampoo and it should feel good as new. Every time after I would get my hair wet it would stretch like a rubber band and break. For MONTHS after it was still gummy. I figured it’s probably not Jill’s fault that it’s gummy because I did go from a really dark color to really light, it’s on me.

After many mental breakdowns and hair mask treatments later, August rolls around. My senior photos are coming up, I need to get my roots done. At this time my hair was finally starting to heal and I was feeling confident enough to touch up my roots. So I book an appointment with Jill to get my roots done. I go in and she told me that she’s not going to go over any of the previous blonde that she did because it’s still pretty delicate. Well clearly she did something wrong. After that appointment I was back to square one again, my hair absolutely DAMAGED. And now in August of 2024 my hair is still gummy and stretchy in places that still haven’t healed.

I recently went to a different stylist in May of 2024 and she did a consolation, she said that Jill used too high of a developer on my hair to get it to process faster disregarding the health of my hair.

It’s a shame that almost after a year of growing my hair out it is STILL damaged. I am never going...

Highly recommend Rustic Roots to anyone, the Gals here at the salon are amazing at what they do, with results out of the ball park. I also like to add how welcoming they make you feel and how Smexy you look when you leave, I never have ever received the compliments I received after getting out of the salon here. So many services the salon offers as well is a plus to me as well. So when your looking for something new or just need a self care to yourself I recommend getting in touch with one of the Gals to get you all Beautified. I saw Jill Jacobo after searching for a hairstylist for a while. I had a baby last year and have really wanted to get my hair done just to do something for myself, and feel like myself again. Prior to seeing Jill, my hair hadn’t had any sort of dye applied for over 3 years. She absolutely nailed it. I showed her a Pinterest example and explained what I had in mind and she brought it to life. When I got home from my appointment my husband’s first words were “I love it!”.
