Have you ever thought that to really benefit from going to the gym, you might need a personal trainer or at least motivated workout partners to make it worth it? If you’re like me, you may not have the motivation to get up and go to the gym, work out hard consistently on your own and push the parts of your body that you don’t necessarily enjoy exercising. I’ve never done CrossFit and haven’t consistently worked out in a long time. This was a big concern to me when I considered joining the “CrossFit culture“. I was welcomed into this gym by it’s caring owners, Liz and Trent, and by it’s great members. The workouts are hard but practical. The time spent in class is organized and efficient. The weights can be, at times, heavy but the atmosphere is light and friendly. The idea of going through a weekly checklist I. E. Legs, chest, arms, back and god forbid, cardio, can’t be monotonous. Having the work out laid out for you when you arrive to class and having it thoroughly explained, feels like something being taken off your plate rather than added to it. The Simple Warrior has been a great addition to my life and I honestly look forward to going to every class. My body feels better, I have more energy and my attitude has improved because of it. Read moreThis month marks my one year anniversary at The Simple Warrior! As someone who had never done CrossFit style workouts prior, I was nervous to start classes here, however, Liz, Trent, and the rest of the Simple Warrior family were so incredibly welcoming and supportive. Liz and Trent are amazing coaches who are very knowledgeable and keep a close eye on everyone to make sure they are doing movements correctly and safely. Liz does a great job at making sure there is a “scaled” version of every movement, so if the WOD has movements that are too difficult, you can modify it!
I started working with Liz for nutrition coaching in July and it has been such a good experience! If there’s a time that I will go out to eat, she’s helped me find items on the menu that fit within my macros. The biggest thing for me is that you can definitely eat things that you love while on her nutrition program.

Read moreI never worked out before joining, so I was terrified when I finally decided to go to the free drop in class. From that day on, the coaches made sure to make me feel like I belonged and always made it a point to work on the fundamentals I needed to perform every movement properly and safely before adding to much weight.
Now that I have two years of experience, and have dropped in at multiple gyms throughout the nation while I was traveling. I have a better understanding about this type of fitness. I have realized that the programming at The Simple Warrior is top notch and stands out from any other place I have been! They definitely write their programming for their members at the gym, by constantly understanding what the community in whole needs to work on.
I would definitely pull the trigger and try it if you are on the fence!!
