I have been playing here 1-2 times a week for over 9 years and up until 2 years ago enjoyed every game. In the last 2 years the quality of refereeing has taken a nose dive, particularly with one of the main Thursday night referees. My team has won several championships and lost our fair share of games, the point being my opinion of the refereeing has nothing to do with the result of the game. Many times my team has won by several goals and I have still felt the need to bring the quality of refereeing to the attention of the facility management, who could clearly care less. I have had parents and spectators of the other team also voice their disapproval of the refereeing in support of our complaints. This particular ref clearly has a need for power and refuses to have even the most amicable conversations regarding the calling of the game and instead immediately threatens to card anyone with a comment.
The management has several times “acknowledged” complaints and rated they will watch over the game, only to sit behind the desk and immediately trash talk those who complain when the referees come in for a break between games.
If you’re looking for a facility where you will be valued as a customer and a competitor, look else where.
Not to mention the facility is disgusting and in need of a power washing, and break ins are fairly common in the...
Read moreI tried for years to like this place. But they just don't get it. It's dirty, it smells like cigarettes from the people that smoke out front. The kids arcade games never work. They blast music during the matches so it's very loud and it's not always kids friendly music. Which is what I would think they would want. The refs could not care less about the safety of the players and curse at them to explain calls. There have been several fights that I've seen and those same players come back and play soon after. They put at least 200 plastoc bottles in the trash every week because they arent smart enough to put the recycling bins on the inside of the netting where the players are drinking them. There is no tracking of whose on what teams so anybody can jump on. Players spit on the field during the game. A friend the other day used the analogy that going to the soccer dome is like walking into a MadMax move. Don't have an event here. Instead try the VBHouse in Elkirdge, API in Gambrills, Soccerstop in Columbia or Odenton Sports Center in Odenton or several meetup groups for both soccer and these other places for kids birthday parties. If you don't know these alternative places just Google them and they...
Read moreReferees favor certain teams. Often seen hanging out with teams pre and post game. The level of officiating is below average, if you are not careful someone is going to get seriously injured & it will become a liability issue.
The mom’s league is fun for the most part, but there is definitely a level of favoritism toward specific teams. Some people are new to soccer which is fine, but you cannot allow that to turn into consistent fouling or kicking at people. Accidents happen, but 5-6 times in a half is not an accident.
Overall I think management could be better and more action driven on the things that happen at overdome. I have actively seen people drinking and smoking inside. Plus there are kids running around left and right with no control or supervision.
I highly doubt they will respond to this review or engage in...
