SHOP 'n SAVE — Local services in Shaler Township

Okay, lets be a little more honest here. I have a feeling that the people that rated this place highly, are the ones that either know Mark and Ed, work there, or the people that are so far under their rock, they wouldn't know a grocery store if it hit them in the face.

This place stinks. Like literally stinks. I have gone in this store, maybe 12 times in my entire life. A few times to pick up an employee that worked there and a few times because I needed something non-edible and they were the closest place and the cheapest place open.

In the 12 times I have gone here, the place literally smells like a deer got run over, someone from Shop and Save gathered it all up, and placed it in aisle 3. Its that bad. I honestly think this place needs to be reviewed by the health board, not only does it stink to high heaven, but its dirty.

If you are used to visiting places like Giant Eagle and Whole Foods in Pittsburgh you probably won't want to come here for actual food items. Or at all.

One of the only reasons this place is still in business is that its essentially the only "grocery" store in the vicinity. Also, some items are good at a discount rate while other's are not. Again, they are the only "grocery" store in the vicinity so they can pretty much charge whatever they want and get it.

I live pretty close to this store I would say a mile away. I rather take the drive to lawerenceville. Heres why! when my family and I first walked into this store everyone immediately started staring at us. Every aisle we went into, even the cahsiers and customers was staring at us. We really didn't think nothing of it and continued to get groceries. When we was ready to check out, we didn't get greeted or didn't get asked if we had a perks card etc. Not even a single thank you! We left with thinking maybe she was having a bad day. We thought we would give the store another try, we went there again same looks, even worse now. Customers were staring and whispering to the employees about us. Feeling really uncomfortable and being followed around we just put the cart back and left the store. I feel that we are getting so discriminated against because we are a biracial family! we did absolutely nothing to anyone but we are getting treated like we are below everyone that was shopping there. I rather go out my way and enjoy my grocery shopping then go to the closest store. I really hope they will start teaching their employees not to discriminate against people who are a different race then their "normal" customers and employees. Treat people the way you want to be treated. I will NEVER put my family through the looks and whispers EVER again. If you have some color to your skin DONT waste your time...

I had a problem and called to speak to the manager and he wouldn't give me his name and he hung up on me. I called back to ask the girl his name and she hung up on me! They are do ignorant and rude at that store. Of all the stores I go to this one is the worst! I saw a roach on the floor and I stepped on it and killed it! I will let all the bugs and critters walk around next time! Customers beware! I will never go there again. If they are the only store open I would starve or die a thirst before I go in there again. I will let the health department know that I saw a roach crawling over by the monster energy drinks! What a dirty disgusting store! They need a new crew starting with the manager and then they better teach them how to clean the store and treat the customers!
