Food Lion — Local services in Shallotte

This is the old Food Lion has been here for years it is clean people are nice friendly and helpful. Has one of the best produce at the beach I have been to all the grocery stores I live here and they have the best produce of anybody Ocean Isle Calabash Sunset Beach Shallotte Supply Southport Bolivia of all these towns around here. Holden Beach produce section is always stocked clean fresh and reasonable price. Also have great prices and wheelchairs grocery carts. Their milk is always fresh they have a great variety of cheeses, breads, Deli, Bakery, roasted chicken fried chicken pizzas. Pet accessories and food, baby food, cooking out supplies, Beauty Supplies, personal hygiene supplies, lots of frozen food section. Also has a large selection of beer and wine. picnic supplies Beach supplies.. they take coupons they sell cigarettes. They do MoneyGrams Western Union. Have customer service. They rent carpet machines.. have clean water dispensaries out front of store. Also have gas exchange. And...

This is another complaint on Food Lion, where as the below review was a few weeks ago... Today I buy a container of their nicely packaged nuts, a very nice portion at a decent price BUT when I open the container and eat a handful to my not being surprised at all, they are old, stale, and no taste! I wonder how long FL packaged foods sit in a hot and humid warehouse before putting on shelves.

I've only lived here for 6 months and this grocery store is terrible, not only do customers have to deal with floor polishing (wet floors, the smell of gas from the machine and the polishers all in your way) something is always bad, especially the produce. It seems the produce is the worst but I've gotten bad meat, bad milk and get this bad cheese...has anyone ever gotten bad cheese from a grocery store!? I guess that's why they are a little bit cheaper than Lowes and HT? Don't go here, just go ahead and spend the extra money at...

I bought meat on 5/18/25 and immediately realized it was bad when I got home, the odor was vomit worthy. I called the 800 number and was told I’d receive a refund on my card or in the form of a gift card. Nothing. I called back and was told it went to corporate and they would be sent a reminder to refund. Nothing. Got a call from the store on 5/15/25 that seemed oblivious to the very simple issue of refunding for bad meat. I called the store back and went through the phone process and phone just rings, called corporate to let them know the $9.57 I am out is not worth my time jumping through hoops. I will suck up the $10 but will be buying meat elsewhere. Ridiculous, I give up. Side note: went back to this store and the same corner meat refrigerators had obvious bad smell of...
